Shit gets busy sometimes LB. :bigjoint:

Been working a lot outside in the Geodome and vegetable garden getting ready for the big spring push! Plus there's a bit needing done downstairs too.

what light are you burning in the "Room Of Chaos" ?
.
Two Hortilux 1000w HPS over an average of four to five plants per light.

Mammath convinced me that I needed to get some macro pics with his rad journal...

Simply magnificent Frog :clap::clap::clap:

Ah the devil himself...

Just wanted to bump this one...it's my favourite.
...and it was a difficult choice.

'Quality', and 'Fucking Amazing', are words that best describe these buds Frog.

I have questions too.

You have mothers of these babies correct?
Were they selected by you because?
You can't just pull out calyx's like that without some background of the strain
They have so much of the 'Herer' in them:hump::hump::hump:
You don't just fluke these sorts of results.

I know it was all in the 'growing' that bought the best out in them, but...
I mean...Damn:weed:

How long you been growing these beauties?

Yo Mammath, I've been growing the JF for 18 months here in the Pac NW. The strain came through a friend in Colorado who brought 200+ seeds back from the 2004 Cannabis Cup.:leaf:

Before that I'd been very successful with an Illinois-originated Northern Lights/Hash Plant X Haze cross that very much resembled the Willy's Wonder in body/bud structure. Silver Haze was grown mostly for personal smoke until being crossed with an original NL5xHaze(Cough#1) which gave it the weight it needed to be commercially viable. I kept the seeds from that cross stored and labeled until a year ago when I started back up again. :weed:

I grew the NL5xHaze (Cough#1) for years in Sunshine Mix 4 back in Colorado, along with Super Skunk, Skunk#1, Skunk X Haze, Strawberry Cough, Orange Crush, Vomit Comet, Bubble Berry, White Rhino, Silver Blueberry, Cali Myst, and a few more miscellaneous breeds back in the days of innocence.

Then came a six-month stint with Black Domina in aero-arms.

Have too many seeds from random crosses to weed through at this point in the game. Playing amateur geneticist is fun, but I need proven rockers when being serious. :bigjoint:

Hey DaGambler, mostly laziness at this point. That soil room has been neglected for three months straight it seems. Eventually a drip system in there would be nice with more numerous but smaller plants to tend. The original setup was two 1000w and two 600w in that 120"x120" space with 20~ plants rotating every two weeks, but when I switched to the SoG as my main grow I just took the two 600w outta there and bought four more, effectively bottle-necking soil flip rate when it was already forming a line out the door, as it were. I also put every last (excepting clone mothers) Jack Flash plant I had into the SoG to bump numbers up. I've been over-vegging plants in soil since late January and not paying half as much attention to that side of the operation, content to just let those finish when they want to. I'll shore up the works at the beginning of next month. Preparations have already begun. Honestly I've thought about getting three more trays for the space available and a couple of light movers to match, but with only one more major round scheduled before August I'll probably hold off on any improvements/decisions until then.

Hi,

You have a very well organized setup here. Congrats on growing some dank stuff, too. The sativa looks like it smells very fruity.

One question... Do you have CO2? I didn't read through all the posts, but I didn't see any signs of it in the pics. If you don't, perhaps you could drill holes in the top PVC pipes supporting the trellis and run CO2 through there? Looks like it would be very convenient. I've been trying to come up with a practical way to dispense the CO2 in my room and you gave me some good ideas!

Anywho, keep up the great work.

I wish my camera wasn't broke. I got buds that look about like yours on page 11 and about as far in I want to put up in my thread. Your shit looks bomb, hoping mine turns out as good.

Just read through the journal and i am blown away!!!

Those buds are so impressive i feel honored to have laid eyes on them.. I can only imagine how they will be to smoke.

I have just ordered some Jack Flash seeds and cannot wait to get them growing! Your grow has shown me to what extent the plants can go in the right environment. I can only hope to achieve even remotely similar results.. But with all the advice and knowledge i gain by reading through legendary journals such as this one, i feel confident i'll achieve my goals.

Congrats on a superb grow!! I would have loved to trim those plants. I find the process somewhat therapeutic. Gazing at the bud structure and the glistening trichomes.. I could sit and do it all day.

Happy growing and may the ganja gods be with u! =)

I have just one question:

What would be the result if I were to grow this strain in a 3.6L pot stright from clone to flowering?

Hi AR, thanks for stopping by my thread! I've never run CO2 in my gardens, but that's a great idea you've got regarding the 3/4" PVC trellis tubing. Am actually looking into that exact design concept for this next go around now that you've introduced it as a potentially viable method! :D

how much did u end up getting!!

Hey Rev101, your grow is looking great. Can't wait to see some updated pics! Thanks for stopping by this journal.
if i ever go automated hydro... i'm looking at ebb and flow for sure.
.
I wouldn't discount it completely, that's for sure... :bigjoint:

Happy growing and may the ganja gods be with u! =)
Cheers Snowchild, thanks for the kind words. :) Send me a link when you've got those JF seeds going!

What would be the result if I were to grow this strain in a 3.6L pot straight from clone to flowering?
Hi iloveit, I'm assuming you mean first signs of rooting directly into a flower cycle? Never flipped a plant that early, or in such a small pot. I would think the result would be something like DeweyKox's bonsai plants. Flip too early and you'll get no weight whatsoever.

Hey Old Frog how are mate?

How's the turnaround going?

Just catching up with ya grow.
...things haven't been running as smooth as normal for me on this get go round, so I been a bit distracted lately.

I really liked the harvest pics, yeah. That's a great haul of JF :hump:
It was great to see the carnage pics of the things we leave behind.
Your waste management is excellent though.

Watch out for the trimming experts on RIU, they'll have ya! lol:lol:

I was surprised to see not too much root action from your cubes, I expected more.
Is this because with your set up, the roots don't have to search for too much?

All the best with the turn around :peace:

Awesome setup and photos Old Frog. What kind of yield did you get from one 4x8 table?

Since you can grow both indoors and outdoors (envy, envy) have you ever grown, from the same mother, a clone outside and one inside to see it there really is a difference in taste? Kind of like science class.

Good show old boy. Keep it coming.

Hey iloveit good luck with your deal! Would love to see some pics when you get it going. Sativa plants might try to stretch a bit much in that confined space, no?

Got the go ahead this year to do just that, BeavisMatsuo. We'll see what's what in the taste world. ;)

Heya OF ... I am interested to see the results of an indoor vs outdoor taste test.

Thanks again for a very informative thread!

I have my journal up and running. Stop by.
