No rockwool experience. But I know PH is important for that or coco.

Imo, the jacks 321 is better with half the epsom. I use RO.

I also bump up the cal mag for my coco.

ya ph is always good.... thats the first thing i check. i flushed the rockwool to reset it yesterday and changed the reservoirs and fed full str jacks again.

i might be locking out the magnesium somehow by feeding it full strength with my tap water. or i gotta go higher and keep the ratios. ill try one... if it doesnt work ill try the other lol.

I do both. Less N with calimagic. As needed to hit my target ppm and ratios. Ca and mg problems in coco led me into this. Lol

i used it for veg and it worked great. just it and well water. had some weird pH drops that they were unable to figure out. so they sent me a bag of the Jack's RO formula. 12-4-16 with higher Ca and Mg than the Tap formula.

using GH floranova bloom for bloom phase. same thing, just it and well water. so far so good.

very nice. I read about Jacks on their website that its supposed to drop pH over time. I guess they intended it cause tap water is high ph? idk exactly but its normal according to their description.

i use dynagros 9-3-6 in veg. same exact situation. it drop from mid 5s to mid 4s in the span of 2 days. So i just bring it back up to mid 5s with some silica then it does it again. i dont mind it too much personally.

yes, i agree. i've got my system setup so i can go away for a few days or even weeks so i need something that stays in range pH wise. but as long as i'm home to adjust/check daily, it worked fine. they were kinda surprised it dropped so low though: into the low 4's.

my floranova is stable for a week easy.

but i'm gonna try the RO formula next run and see what happens
 
gotcha. you didnt get any sulfur deficiencies in veg only using tap with no sulfur at all? or did you add epsom here and there just to give it that micro nutrient.

jacks 321 comes out to the same 3-1-4 npk as tap/ro so i rather deal with 1-2 nutes instead of 3 tbh. getting tired of mixing all these powders.

i wouldn't even know the signs of a sulfur deficiency to be honest. but no, i added nothing to the Tap formula.

if i had a bigger grow, i'd be more inclined to buy big bags and mix it myself. but with just a few plants, simplicity for me
 
so a quick update

flowered 2 citrus milfs on 9/24

one started showing some premature yellowing (leaves at the bottom not getting enough light which is normal) but also some fan leaves towards the top of the plant. the other one is green and nice. so i'm mixing half floranova bloom along with the Jack's RO formula (12-4-16) to give them a bit more N to see if that helps. strange that only one is showing this deficiency when the plants look almost identical.
 
so a quick update:

Jack's RO formula and my well water seem to love each other. been 11 days now and still in pH range. had to adjust on day 1 and 2 down from about 6.6 to 6.8 to in range and haven't touched it since

and going out on a limb and going with Fatman's bloom NPK profile (3-1-4) for almost all of bloom on my last plant in the bloom room: a Bad Girl S1 from twenty20 mendo. she seems to like the ratio. most people say that 3 N is too much for bloom (produces too much leaf vs bud) which i'm not finding at all to be true. flipped on oct 24th.
 
This was a good read. I just moved back to my childhood homestead. I have a flow well that’s been running for over a 100 years now. The ppm on the water is 8 and the ph is 5.8. I have a pump that pumps into a tank and I also have a tank that’s a ph adjuster tank. I have to poor calcite into tank once a year and it bring ph up to 7. At 5.8 it will eat any copper pipe up in your house. This is my first grow with with this water. I’m running Jacks 321 and on day 8 of flowering. Once I adjust my ph it sticks there. I really have always like my ph to drift. Not sure if it’s the calcite or the Jacks that’s making ph so stable. The girls are looking good though.
 
almost out of dynagro foliage for my veg. I think i will try out the RO next veg run even with my tap since you like it. I like that it has much more cal and mag then dynagro.

Have you tried their blossom booster 10-30-20 they recommend for Bloom weeks 1-2? I was thinking about trying that one too but I saw it has no calcium in it whatsoever and on their feed chart.... it doesnt show to add cal-nit with it so its got me confused.

i have a few strains that get really leafy with the 3-1-4/3-1-2 NPK in bloom and i dont schwazz or deleaf the fan leafs off so it gets purty damn bushy and id like to avoid that.

i always felt something was lacking with FP. it was definitely short on Mg for sure.

i have not tried the 1-3-2. they also make a finishing formula 7-X-X ( have to look it up again) but it has no Ca. i asked jacks and he told me it was fine to use for last 2 weeks, the lack of Ca was not an issue at the end. not sure i buy that answer
