Bro, you have no idea how happy you have made me! I'm just starting out my first grow, I'm going coco/perlite 50/50, and I've decided to use JC 20-20-20 cause I've heard nothing but great results from it. The biggest worry I had was wondering if I could use this fert with my medium. After doing some research I found that it should be fine as long as you're supping cal/mag along with your feed. But in your case the well water seems to be working beautifully! You just gave me a great boost of confidence, my friend! Keep it up!

glad to see another Jacks grower. I'm harvesting some of my Bodhi girls this week. Had zero problems with these girls, and am super excited. I had one girl who liked cal mag but this go around with Jacks didn't require any additional cal mag. In Fact a closer look on the Jacks tub shows adequate mag and cal in it.
I will take some before and after harvest pictures when I chop.

afaik the classic line does not contain any calcium and only a little mag. in soil where your going to have lime in the mix, or if your tap water has good levels then it would be good. As ch already pointed out they have a hydro line that has calcium and magnesium already as well as better nitrogen source. The 2 part formula is to prevent phosphorous from forming precipitates with the calcium which is a problem with complete 1 parts like dyna grow.

that said, I have used dyna grow grow for my last 4 cycles and it works pretty well. I did have precipitate issues, but overall worked pretty well. I have recently switched to a kelp4less blend that has ratios alot closer to foliage pro or jacks hydro and my plants seem to be doing a little better than my previous grows.

you may be right in the calcium, but what most people forget (and it's probably due to the combo cal/mag solutions) is that generally most mediums have plenty of calcium. I have never encountered a calcium problem in my limited growing experience but certainly ran into a mag problem when I used Fox Farms.

ETA I'm growing in soil less (Happy Frog/added perlite)

Jack's is what I went with after reading up on nutes. On my second DWC right now. Easy to use, and I do mix it straight in the res and have had no I'll effects so far.

maybe you should try them and find out for yourself. and seeing how there are thousands of people running jack's, little hard to be a scam. if anything advanced is the one scamming you.

"Straight up scam"? Granted the the Peters website doesn't use the word "dank" even once. They do however offer soil analysis through their lab, and they've been around so long that some of the old school growers actually get a snicker when some of us younger cats actually discover the company exists. The stuff is affordable as Hell to boot, and you don't even have to pay extra for a cool psychedelic graphic on the packaging.
Yeah, im only on my second grow btw. I also never change out my nutes once I start a grow, and my ph almost takes care of itself, very low maintenance.
Just my two cents.

Snickering be damned! Discovering Jacks was like finding a holy grail of fertilizers. As if my prayers were answered! lol

A complete, easy to use, and the savings to boot make Jacks the bees knees. Not that there are not other good complete products out there (dynagrow gets similar praises), but damn it ia hard to get better.
Each plant, from start to finish, honestly costs me less than $2. $2 freakin' $ !!!!!!!
Foxs Farms cost me far more when using it, plus had deficiencies and salt build up with some burns.

I love Jacks classics, cant recommend it enough. I ran a test between Jacks and Dynagro, both plants were identical clones, and Jacks slightly beatout Dynagro. However, Dynagro is really good fertilizer and for those who cannot obtain Jacks, Dynagro is where its at!!

I hear nothing but good things in dynagrow. If I wasn't satisfied with Jacks, I would consider changing up, yet I can't see any reason to do so.

I firmly believe half of the people in these plant problem posts wouldn't even be in the situation they were using a complete fertilizer without all the magic bottles. I'm only a jacks cheer leader because it works.

Just got my jack's classic in the mail yesterday and can't wait to see the results the rest of my grow as I've only used general hydroponics 3 part line for my last 3 grows which were very successful. I just want something a little easier and more well rounded...if it's good enough for the old timer hippies, it's good enough for me.

Stopped by my hydro shop to grab some supplies, and guess what Web page they were on? Jacks!

Finally enough people have been asking about it and they are trying to begin to carry it.

For the last time (probably not), Jack's classic is not complete. It's not meant to be complete. It needs calcium supplemented by the media (your soil) in order to work well. You use soil and a soil based fertilizer, jacks classic.

There's a reason Jack's also has a hydroponic version, a complete formula including calcium and nearly 100% nitrate nitrogen. It's called Jack's Professional Hydroponics. It's a 2 part dry mix.

Please stop suggesting to hydro growers to use Jack's classic as if it's the "KISS" solution that "educated" people use. It's anything but that. It's the complete opposite of educated. It's willful ignorance. It's good for soil, and bad for hydro and there are good reasons, even if they go above your head.

Jack's professional hydro + calcium nitrate (the 2 parts) is what you want if you grow in hydro. You grow in happy frog, so Jack's classic is ideal for you.

Considering you were using GH 3 part before, I'm assuming you were running a hydroponic setup? If so, please come back to this thread and post your results. Jack's classic is simply not meant to be used for hydroponic setups. The only reason TonightYou keeps recommending it for hydro growers is he thinks his happy frog soil is inert, when it's soil.

I know he means well, but he's unintentionally being very misleading to hydroponic growers who are considering switching to jacks' classic. Dyna-grow and Jack's classic are designed very differently, and if you're using a DWC, you'll notice a big difference.
