So I have heard but I love stressed out plants :) what's the point of growing a flower that doesn't have a smell?

Mine never look stressed though but what can you do?

I've been using Jack's for years and just add some cal/mag about once a week while in flower. Easy peazy. I use Happy Frog as my soil.

I know some push that JC but when you add it all up I'd say General Hydroponics stuff is about the same price and it perfect for pot. Sure the GH trio of grow/bloom/micro is about $35 but you can tailor it for vegging and bloom, not stuck to either one. That $35 buys 3 quarts of mix. You go through a lot of that JC just vegging.
Bullshit, two $20 4lb tubs last me about a year and a half 3 quarts of GH wouldn't even last me a full grow.

But it does depend where you buy the Jacks Classic cause hydro stores want too much fucking money. But greenhousemegastore.com is really cheap

Why are you using Jack's classic? Get a 25lb bag of Jack's Professional 5-12-26 and a 25lb bag of Cal nitrate. For under $200, you've got enough nutes for several years and all the calcium you need. 3-2-1 formula from veg to chop, I've grown thousands of plants and hundreds of strains, never once have I burned a plant or had a deficiency/lockout issue with the 3-2-1 regiment. And nothing else, I ran into a problem when I started using Kelp and other organic amendments. Just 3-2-1, that's it, don't fuss with it.

@homebrewer got it right on the second post. Jacks classic is for soil and potting mixes fortified with lime, bone meal, or gypsum. For a medium not fortified with lime(etc), you need a hydroponic formula based around calcium nitrate.
