My new Jacks Citrus looks more light blue than the dark blue and when mixed with water it is green rather than blue. Weird.

My tap is now 380 and I have had issues with it in the past so doing a mix to 120 tap/RO has worked better this time. Our grow styles and demands sound similar. Only variable is I use Promix HP for soil so not sure how your soil compares. I PH between 5.8 and 6.2, usually around 6 on average. I started out using RO water and had some minor issues. Going full tap water improved any issues 100%. My tap is around 250ppm so your water is not too hard....don't strip those natural nutes out of your water. My ppm's of Jacks throughout growth range from 250ppm to 700ppm. Only supplement needed besides the Jacks is around 100ppm of Cal/Mag once or twice (usually once during veg and once during bloom). I'll also add some potassium sulfate 2 or 3 times throughout bloom also. Your plants look really good so just watch the shade of green in your leaves and zero in the ppm's. I try to keep a nice, solid, dark green color. If they are lighter green they need more nutes. Also keep those pots wet in bloom. Your trics will dry out and disappear if the pot dries out too much.
purchased when? serials, label changes that you can distinguish any marks showing the batch date? i saw the changes in terpinator a few years ago, none for the worse but still changes, they upped the dosage to empty the bottle faster, cant fault them though, thats business...My new Jacks Citrus looks more light blue than the dark blue and when mixed with water it is green rather than blue. It's just dye.My new Jacks Citrus looks more light blue than the dark blue and when mixed with water it is green rather than blue. Weird.
Are you sure it's not copper? It's just dye.
Yes, because my brand of dry nutes has more copper in a very similar mix and it's just slightly blue-greenish. The dye is there to hide impurities. Jacks is actually kinda low rent as dry nutrient salts go.Are you sure it's not copper?
Yes. With hydro-gardens I have no need to add micros. So you're saying Jack's is of lower quality? I remember you saying a while back that hydro gardens had more micro's in it than jacks even though they have the same n-p-k ratio, does that mean you would feed any differently with jack's as opposed to hydro gardens?
I had good results with this; What micro's would you be adding to jacks out of curiosity? I don't know a whole lot about nutrient's and dry salts yet but I am trying to learn. I see typically people use the hydro mix, magnesium sulfate, and calcium nitrate in different ratios, what else other than that would you be adding to jacks?
Could you use GH micro with jacks?I had good results with this;

In general, if there's much of an NPK value, probably not. You can get by just adding iron.
Ok so the issue there is the nitrogen and potassium in there along with the micros, they'll throw your ratios off.
Not sure if that worked, on my phone. But here's a direct link.

have you thought of using the acid special along with the citrus? the acid special has 14% sulfur, citrus has 5% i think, and the hydrangea has 9%. i think i am going with all three combined in increments on the next go round... maybe even aquagold with its 9%...My new Jacks Citrus looks more light blue than the dark blue and when mixed with water it is green rather than blue. Sweet I can actually access mineral matrix here. Roughly how many ml per gallon, or litres preferably, would you recommend with jacks hydro?Ok so the issue there is the nitrogen and potassium in there along with the micros, they'll throw your ratios off.
Unfortunately the liquid nutrient makers love to play this game to force the user to stick with their whole line of products.
Once you have an idea about how to use dry nutrient salts, you could use this and skip the calcium nitrate in your solution... But by then you'd realize that's still more expensive than just using the dry nutrients by themselves.
If you saw the ingredients on the label of the Mineral Matrix, you'll see that it does not contain much NPK at all, just 1% potassium (K). That's why it's such a good micronutrient supplement.
Again, with Hydro-gardens mixes, it's just not needed.
I used 2 ml Mineral Matrix to 5 gallons of plant ready nutrient solution. That's only because Jacks is short on iron and micros as a cost saving measure.Sweet I can actually access mineral matrix here. Roughly how many ml per gallon, or litres preferably, would you recommend with jacks hydro?
I think you mentioned a 3-2-1 ratio earlier (jacks, nitrates, Epsom). You then adjust your EC
Where does the micro nutrients come in. Do you make your mix, then ec, then micro, then ec again? Sorry if it's simple I just can't get my head round that part!
I would also like to add some silica and sometimes rhizotonic and cannazym.
And do you run the same amount, of the micros, start to finish or are more elements used in late flower say?
I'm going to try read more on it, but this thread has been the best resource I've come across. Maybe someone can share other links?
I just use 3-2-1 and nothing else and it works like a charm.Add rhizotonic, cannazym and say silica at my preferred measurements to my nutrient mix. Also my micros, mineral matrix say.
Then add a concentrated jacks 3-2-1 ratio to bring my ec up?
Think that's it. What measurements of micros would you recommend?
Hoping it's low at 30 a litre lol
