Jacks (JR Peters) nutrients

I run a similar product to Jacks, I believe it's cleaner, from www.Hydro-gardens.com

They have a 5-12-26 mix with micros that's better because more micros. They also sell all the other dry nutrient components needed.

I'm very satisfied with its performance.

I don't need to add much MKP to my nutrient mix to see explosive flower growth. I've done the side by side and I found that dry nutrients work as well or better than water bottles FOR A TINY FRACTION OF THE PRICE. Like less than five percent...

There's nothing magical in those waterbottles! The plants want the same nutes, they give not one shit how much you spent, how cool the label looks or whether you got a 'discount' on the rest of the lineup from the manufacturer.

Plants want (in water soluble form);
Nitrogen
Phosphorus
Potassium
Calcium
Sulphur
Magnesium
Iron
Micronutrients like copper, boron, etc.

That's it. They don't NEED anything else! Plant growth regulators, or PGRs can help plants do what they do slightly faster, but even these are made by plants themselves and the grower need not add them. If your environment is on point and your nutrients are in order, you won't need or want to use PGRs.
Yo bro what do you buy at HydroGardens? How much?

Do you pick stuff up? Do you know Charlie the cat?

The younger lady is very nice.

I wasn't happy with my yields on my first grow. I used just a little of the fox farm trio on that one and in retrospect just didn't use enough nutes in general. I used a stronger dose of fox farm during veg on my current second grow. But I want to make the switch to Jacks and have used the bloom booster on my flower stage on this grow. I'm three weeks out from finishing my second grow and the results are just slightly better and I'm having some issues with nitrogen. A lot of the bottom leaves have claw. I've used 1/4 scoop per gallon all the way every 1.5 waterings. Any tips?? I want to introduce jacks all purpose during veg on my next grow I think. Unless anyone has a better suggestion

Hydro Gardens

https://hydro-gardens.com/product-category/fertilizers/page/1/
8765 Vollmer Rd
Colorado Springs, CO 80908-4710
(888 ) 693-0578 or (719) 495-2266

I went there today and they sold me a complete nutrient lineup in the form of fully soluble dry salts for hydroponics...

FOR LESS THAN ONE DOLLAR A POUND!!!!!!

Okay? A pound of their 5-11-26 mix with micros makes 200 gallons of nutrient solution! To that you add calcium nitrate, a pound of which makes 133 gallons of nutrient solution.

I don't know what y'all use but if it comes in a water bottle, you're gonna pay a lot more than that.

sounds like you are still low on nutes. I use 3-4 scoops per 5 gallons during flower.

I agree and I really ramped up this grow. Started to see a little nutrient burn at the end and started having calcium issues in the last few weeks of flower which I think is stunting the swell at the end on the buds. Was loading up my soil with lime but it apparently isn't enough. I'm waiting on some cal mag to come in the mail. It should arrive today

Yeah Cal/Mag is the only deficiency I get. I forgot why but read lime isn't the best in this situation (Jacks, soilless, etc....think it raises ph?). Just find your balance with Jacks and use cal/mag when you see its needed. I never noticed a potassium deficiency but I do add potassium sulfate once or twice during flower as I read it can be beneficial.

Hello Jack's users...

I want to see if anyone has noticed if and how much Jacks 321 drops the ph of your tap water. My tap water is around ph 7 and when I mix my Jacks 321 it drops the solution to the mid- 5's. I'm testing with the GH drops and not a meter. So, I'm worried I might be getting bad readings. I'm seeing some issues with my plants and I'm wondering if the Jacks drops the ph too low then maybe I should raise the ph to around 6. I'm doing hydro w/ coco. I anyone else seeing this type of ph drop with the Jacks? I'm trying to avoid having to buy a ph meter. I like the simplicity if the ph drops.

If you are growing in coco, or any other hydro method with jacks, you need a PH meter. I don't know any other way around it unless you don't care about your yields/quality. I never understand this mentality, a ph meter will pay for itself with your improved results, it's a no-brainer.

yep, milwaukee mw102, and suck it up and buy a replacement probe every year. Worth its weight in gold.
I use Blue Lab equipment. Replacement probes are about $60, I need one yearly on average.

There is no replacement for top shelf water quality instrumentation; if it's your eyes on how your nutes are doing, do you want to settle for anything less than perfect vision?

I have a tendency to jump to the most expensive solution, so I was trying to resist the urge. Good gardening is always my goal, so I might have to go the ph meter route.

I bit the bullet and just ordered the Milwaukee 102. It actually wasn't terribly expensive for a unit with a replaceable sensor. I'm looking forward to not having to interpret colored drops. Thanks for the assist from you and ttystikk. I wasn't aware of these pro meters with reasonable prices. I was worried I'd have to drop $300 min.

I think most people don't realize how much stress ph swings can put on a plant. Probably one of the most unnatural environmental factors in indoor gardening.

Nice, you won't regret it. An ec meter is helpful to dial in your dosage, but if you listen to your plants, they will tell you what they need. I used mine when i first started with Jack,s but now that i have my formula down, i haven't used it in over a year.
