That is an excellent line up of nutes.

I used the AN additives, tho I am still working through my Pro-Blend
for the main Veg and Flower feeds.

I might add Ancient Earth (ANs version of Liquid Karma...kinda ;0) and
Bud Ignitor. The latter is a newer product, I believe. It precedes Big Bud
and kinda completes the Ignitor->BigBud->Overdrive sequence.

I found their Kushy Kush recently. Hot stuff!

AN has a snake oil reputation. A company that is taking advantage of pot growers with fancy names and diluted products. I would not go for it, but if that works for you, go ahead, it will do it's job for a fair amount of money.
I would get a bottle of 3-1-2 npk grow food, add some cal/mag/sulfur/silica and dial in the env.
A lot of hypes floating around this forum, can't believe they never die even if those things were long time ago debunked such as preharvest flushing, high P foods during flowering, etc.

I did notice it was quite an expensive line of nutes.
But then again, I did see some grows that used it and the plants look lush and heavy...

I guess I wouldn't mind giving the extra buck now for added value later.

I've been using Advanced Hydroponics of Holland three part nutes plus Advanced Natural Power additives. Because they are cheap. So far they've worked as you have seen, but I do believe I can produce more yield and quality with this setup. Perhaps AN nutes will help...

That sounds about right. I started off using just pro-blend,
cal-mag, and silica blast. The additives are for fun. ;0)

Woke this morning, opened up the tent and found out I have what looks like 2 females and 1 male.

I nearly cut the male down, but after inspecting a bit I was unsure about it beeing nanners 100%, so I decided I'll wait till tomorrow and see if it gets confirmed. If yes, I'll cut it down. Sadly.

The other 2 are looking nice, and I hope to wake up to some prominent pistils tomorrow morning.

I love that my hybrid hydro system works so nicely. Check out the roots on the "male". 3 weeks 12/12 from seed.



I know the macro shot sucks, but I didn't have time to gather my macro set. Anyway it does look like a nanner cluster growing right there.

Now I'm wondering if I should get some more seeds germinating to fill this ones' place.

Probably end up doing a 2 plant run this time.

well IME if I cannot see pistils sticking out of calyxes means it's a boy. Usually pistils show up before you see them with bare eye, so yeah, you're prob right.
you could also let it grow ball cluster on a dedicated branch, trim the rest, once flowers will be about to open, cut that branch, dip into water and place on a window or under 20w cfl.after 4-7 days you'll collect some pollen and apply it with paint brush on a dedicated fem branch or flower cluster, you can easily get like 20 seeds from a small branch

Yeah, if no hairs pop out eventually....I have also found that
real balls can tend to be on little stalks..very short mind you,
where the female calxys seem to sit right on the stem.

I did not know that you were growing unknown regulars. I generally
make clones after seeing pre-flowers, or flowering a tester.

I just cut down the boy. Yes it was a boy. This morning he had larger clusters showing, I had no doubt.

I considered keeping it for selective pollination but it wasn't any great strain or anything, so I got it over with.

JD, I germinated a few seeds but in the end half of them died. Too cold, I recon. The survivors were these three. The Amnesia Lemon and 2 Sleestack x Devil's Weed. These last ones where some of my own seeds from a previous grow. One of them turned out to be a male.

The Amnesia Lemon was a seed I found in a nice dense bud I bought a while back. Hoping it turns out good.

I'm really curious to see what this female Slee x Devil (I'm calling it Devil'Stack right now =P) will yield. A good stable Devil's Weed is usually very deep hitting with very strong aphrodisiac properties. Also it tends to become red at the edges in late flower.
I'd love to see a nice phenotype emerge from this one. Even though most of my Devil's beans didn't show any great exemplars so far. Perhaps the Sleestack will help out a bit.

Fingers crossed for the good stuff.

Also, just to be clear, I chose these "lesser" strains because I was testing this new hybrid-hydro system and wasn't sure if it would be a sham grow. =P

Hey Jad. You really have a nice looking grow this round! I planted about 3 weeks ago but my plants are growing so slowly.....

Say, wasn't someone talking about magic mushrooms here a while back? Sorry if I'm changing the subject but does anyone know if this is psilocybin cubensis? I found it on an old dog turd. Should I try it?

LOL, but that is certainly an interesting find....looks like a mold.

Thank you JD. I believe I will follow your advice and I think you are right, it's only mold. The turd was fresher than I thought too. After I brought it into the house and it warmed up a little it started to smell.

Great, that was my intention. Laughter is powerful medicine. It mixes very well with a little herb and if you add a little canna butter and I just forgot what I was saying......

Yields are looking much better, Jad3. Do you plan on topping the two current plants?

I will not top these current plants because they are 12/12 from seed. So if I top them now I end up giving them a little pause in the development timeline, and then I've defeated the initial purpose.
I'll post some new pics in a little bit.

...One Week Later - Update...

So, last week I took out the MH bulb and put in the HPS bulb. To contribute towards the flowering phase. 12/12 as before.
One week later the GIRLS are drinking nearly 1L of water every 2 days, each. (Note to self: bigger reservoir next time =P)

And here's how they are looking.



The Devil'Stack has the upper hand, showing better growth and maturing. The Amnesia Lemon is a little behind and I find the pistils are still very thin and fragile looking. I hope it gets going in about a week or two when the stretch has stopped.

You may also notice I put some chopsticks across the plants to make for some LST. Mainly in the sense of spreading the branches sideway so as to eliminate shading and blocking.

For now I'll just keep doing what I'm doing, and keep my fingers crossed for nice looking buds.

Yes, if you have a spare bathroom or just a spare drain, do it. It's so mess-free it's heaven in maintenance.

I'm still doing it. My tent has a hole in the bottom (I made it), and any excess watering, or splash or accident, drains right out into the sewers. No fuss.
