Yea, I know, and they checked my passport, my ID, and my orders. However, Austria is, and they just checked my passport. Dude, I lived there for 5 years. I wsn't there a week.

This is a great question. I've been to Amsterdam a few times and I do love it, however if I had the time to be there a while, I'd prefer Jamaica as I'm a tropical person.
For accommodation I strongly suggest the Marriot Renaissance in Amsterdam. It is very central, clean decent rooms, you can smoke weed in the non-smoking rooms without too much hassle. I stay there whenver I go to the dam, and it's comfortable walkng distance to my fav coffee shops.
When travelling between the western EU countries on trains and by road you don't often get stopped, and if so they usually just have a cursory glance at your passport.
Enjoy your travels and say hi to Barneys for me... It's been too long. I wonder if the Aussie chick still works there hmm

another good point. You can get a nice hotel if you want, but a lot of them will hastle you about smoking bud in the rooms. Food for thought.
Last time I was at the Renaissance I was tripping balls on shrooms, was stumbling round the corridor thinking everyone was wizards and dragons cos I had been watching harry potter. I lost my room key between my room and my mates room, but the concierge was very helpful and best thing of all, they have complimentary syrup waffles! 24hr room service as well of course; not the best menu but at least they have pizza!

The Crowne Plaza is where I stay if my wife insists on being at the center of things. It depends on her wishes (always keep ur spouse happy). One of my favorite things to do while at the Hotel is to go down to their street level cafe and have a cold glass of fine sherry and their shrimp croquettes, which are to die for. You can sit outside or watch everyone passing by through their large windows.
If we want to do more of a museum vacation, we stay at a B&B near the Opera House. Some very fine rooms are out there and the food in that area is very very good as you can imagine.
Best time to go to Amsterdam is coming up ... Queens day. We have been to 6 of them so far and has always been outstanding.

Best thing to do is put ur lovely amterdam buds in a grinder and stick that in your jacket pocket and put your jacket in your bag.
That way if u do get caught (unlikely) u can just say 'well i was smoking in amsterdam legally and i just forgot id left that in my jacket'
America doesn't have any??? you know they make one way tickets you can stay there and you'll find out what real class speration is.
I went to AmDam from Florida was supposed to be there for 11 days came home in 5 days. Now I'm over 40. If I was 20 or 30 maybe I stay longer. The food is fucking BAD. the locals don't care for Americans. And the dollars is down against the EURO. So whatever it cost you it also costs you 40-60% more becuase of the exchange rate. I didn't think AmDam was worth the money.

If you go for a few weeks, then one day grab a train and connect through Antwerp and go to Brugges, Belgium. Enjoy the Midieval town and it's fine outdoor cafes and Mussels. Mussels and bier. Bier and Mussels.
You will see a fairly pristine and very very old town. It's well worth a visit.

its only a 45 minute plane journey from england so i only book up for 4 nights at a time. they r very expensive trips but i do think its worth it. it is just so much fun and surreal.America doesn't have any??? you know they make one way tickets you can stay there and you'll find out what real class speration is.

go to JAMAICA,

Did you go to the museums? eleven days isn't even enough time to check them all out. Tour the country side?
the locals were all friendly to me .
also I found the food to be great.
Nothing like European beer.
You shoulda took the train to Germany or Paris. I could spend a week in the Louvre museum alone.

I did take many responses into consideration, but someone had a post and said go to Prague its a child between Marilyn Manson and Rob Zombie, that was the deal breaker.
We are headed Dec. 23-Jan.12, over Christmas and New Years.
Since we both enjoy the herb it was a simple decision.

i had the pleasure of staying 4 days last year and it was intense. lots of weed, lots of shrooms, lots of beer....
i stayed in the stayokay amsterdam zeerburg..kinda crowded but pretty clean overall......
it is in a very indian/middle-eastern neighborhood... just amazing
i've been to jamaica 4 times. amsterdam only once.... amsterdam takes the cake. 1000000 times.....

the stayokay zeerburg is a very nice hostel. cost me 28 euros/night. not too bad. it has a toilet, sink and shower per room. six beds per room.
it's probably gonna be all beds full.....6 outta 6.....
i bought a bottle of chlorine, or smething like that to spray the shower before i went in, wore sandals in there, shit like that....
just in case, you don't want no athlete's foot for wanting to have a good time.......
