FDNY Gives FBI Info on Members Who Attended US Capitol Riot

The New York City Fire Department has turned over information to the FBI on multiple members who were allegedly at the U.S. Capitol when rioters charged the building.

A spokesperson for the FDNY confirmed that a number of its members reportedly identified as being at Wednesday's riot that led to the deaths of four people and a U.S. Capitol Police officer.
Both police and fire departments in the whole country are filled with trump cult members.
They need to be purged.

Here is a place to fight these assholes, it's turned into a real citizens action center for "fanatical" patriots since the sacking of the capital. I would expect the whole right wing nutbar universe is about to contract and become more concentrated, places like this will monitor them as they roam the internet looking for a home. I posted a thread about Parlor watch and here is an example of the content

Or at least reprogrammed and watched.

The combination of being highly respected and brainwashed is a scary combination.
I don't think they can be reprogrammed..........their racist tendencies are hard wired in their brains.
They should be sought out and removed.

It's kinda like a spectrum disorder, there is a range of severity and a xenophobic propensity is wired in, more in some than others. Racism and bigotry are learned behaviors that can ride on our inherent propensities. In Europe soccer team fans formed gangs and caused mass violence and even death in the past, so it's not just race, ethnicity or religion, it can be the color of your shirt or the hat you wear too. Alternately, mixed race or ethnic teams do very well, whether in sports, business, the military or science.

The kind of bullshit white superiority and exceptionalism we are seeing has always been there, but it is increasingly to be found in the dregs of society. They are found among the moral failures who could not rise above their conditioning and evolve as human beings. Those who were intellectually or character flawed or had the misfortune to grow up in a region or area of the country where such bullshit is endemic. Even in areas where people are historically taught bigotry as culture, the internet and the influence of mass media have had an effect and diminished the impact of the local racist culture.

If the racism and not something like religion/classism/etc is what got them, I agree. But it would not be very helpful to have thousands of families pushed into poverty because our POTUS allowed them to be under constant assault for the last 4 years.

The radicalization comes in many flavors, and degrees of severity. People will be studying this for decades.

Fucking Centuries/Eternity?
:)
Fair enough. I am I guess more talking about the radicalization/weaponization of the ideology by the Russian military.

But at the very least their entire adult lives they have been having hate radio/Fox propaganda to push them into fearing 'the Democrats'. And you are right, centuries is most accurate.

Tech giants crack down on Parler for lack of content moderation
Apple and Amazon both cracked down on Parler late Saturday, pulling the app from their Apple store and Amazon Web Services (AWS) hosting until the conservative social media platform ramps up content moderation.

“We have always supported diverse points of view being represented on the App Store, but there is no place on our platform for threats of violence and illegal activity,” Apple said in a statement to The Hill. “Parler has not taken adequate measures to address the proliferation of these threats to people’s safety. We have suspended Parler from the App Store until they resolve these issues,” added the company.

"We have received numerous complaints regarding objectionable content in your Parler service, accusations that the Parler app was used to plan, coordinate, and facilitate the illegal activities in Washington D.C. on January 6, 2021 that led (among other things) to loss of life, numerous injuries, and the destruction of property,” Apple wrote to Parler in a statement obtained by Buzzfeed News. “The app also appears to continue to be used to plan and facilitate yet further illegal and dangerous activities.”

Amazon Web Services on Saturday evening told Parler Chief Policy Officer Amy Peikoff in an email that the platform has increasingly been used to host violent content and become a threat to public safety. The site will likely go offline entirely Sunday night without a replacement host.

“Recently, we’ve seen a steady increase in this violent content on your website, all of which violates our terms,” the Amazon Web Services email, obtained by Buzzfeed, reads. “It’s clear that Parler does not have an effective process to comply with the AWS terms of service.”

Google also pulled the Parler app from its store last week, citing an “ongoing and urgent public safety threat.”

“We recognize that there can be reasonable debate about content policies and that it can be difficult for apps to immediately remove all violative content, but for us to distribute an app through Google Play, we do require that apps implement robust moderation for egregious content,” the tech giant said in a statement.

While Parler heavily emphasizes its lack of content moderation, the platform confirmed to Mediaite this weekend that it has deleted posts by pro-Trump attorney and conspiracy theorist Lin Wood. Wood was also suspended from Twitter last week.

The crackdown comes as Twitter has suspended various users connected to the far-right QAnon conspiracy theory and, on Friday night, President Trump himself, expressing concerns the president would use his account to foment further violence.

In the meantime, rival platform Gab reported it has seen its user base grow by 10,000 per hour in the wake of Trump’s ban. Gab, like Parler claims far less content moderation than Twitter and has also become a haven for the far-right.

CEO Andrew Torba tweeted in the early hours of Sunday morning that the site saw 18 million visits Saturday.

Wall Street Journal: White House pressured Georgia federal prosecutor to resign
White House officials pressured a top Georgia federal prosecutor to resign ahead of the state's high stakes Senate runoff elections because President Donald Trump was upset he wasn't pursuing Trump's baseless allegations of widespread election fraud strongly enough, according to The Wall Street Journal.
The Journal, citing people familiar with the matter, reported Saturday that a senior Justice Department official called Trump-appointed US Attorney Byung J. Pak at the White House's request. The official told Pak he needed to resign because he wasn't investigating the allegations to Trump's liking, the Journal reported.
The day before Georgians headed to the polls, Pak abruptly submitted his resignation, citing "unforeseen circumstances" as his reason for departure in an email to his collea
https://www.cnn.com/2021/01/09/politics/trump-phone-call-georgia-investigator-2020-election/index.html
The revelation marks yet another effort by Trump to attempt to pressure a Georgia government employee to overturn President-elect Joe Biden's win in the state. CNN reported earlier Saturday that the President in December urged the chief investigator for the Georgia secretary of state's office to "find the fraud" in the 2020 presidential election, telling the individual that they would be a "national hero," according to a source with knowledge of the call.

Barry Paschale, the public affairs officer of the Southern District of Georgia, confirmed to CNN Saturday that Bobby Christine had been named acting US attorney for the Northern District of Georgia.
According to the Journal, Christine, a Trump appointee, assumed those duties in addition to his role in the Southern District, instead of the No. 2 in Pak's office taking over in an acting capacity, as is typically the case.

Clyburn: House may wait until after Biden's first 100 days to send impeachment articles to Senate
House Majority Whip James Clyburn on Sunday said House Democrats might wait until after President-elect Joe Biden's first 100 days in office to send any articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump to the Senate, a move that would give the incoming President time to tackle his agenda in Congress before the start of a time-consuming trial.

"We'll take the vote that we should take in the House, and (House Speaker Nancy Pelosi) will make the determination as to when is the best time to get that vote and get the managers appointed and move that legislation over to the Senate," Clyburn told CNN's Jake Tapper on "State of the Union."
"It just so happens that if it didn't go over there for 100 days, it could -- let's give President-elect Biden the 100 days he needs to get his agenda off and running, and maybe we'll send the articles sometime after that," the South Carolina Democrat added.

Pelosi said Friday that Democrats are prepared to move forward this week with impeaching Trump over his role in last week's deadly attack on the US Capitol if he doesn't resign. Democrats plan to introduce their impeachment resolution on Monday, which already has nearly 190 co-sponsors.

Might as well, they can't get rid of him before the 20th unless Pence pulls the pin on him with the 25th. Donald won't be running the roads for long and I expect the DOJ will pull his passport and ground his jet pretty quick. I expect an indictment for individual #1, or someone going to prison, if there is not one unsealed on the 20th or 21st. Donald better be out of the country by inauguration day, or he won't get out.

They should take their time and rub the republican's noses in him for a spell with an impeachment trial to bar him from holding federal office. Donald would run for the republican nomination from his prison cell and probably get it, shit he could even be elected POTUS from prison. He wouldn't have twitter so he could pull it off, there appear to be enough lunatics in the county to pull it off!

They screwed up the last impeachment because they rushed it trying to limit political damage. Might as well take the time and do it right. I don't like the idea of Trump continuing running around with people calling him President Trump in the remainder but oh well, life is messy.

What sucks is we don't know if the Trump rioters actually succeeded in murdering a lot of people in the capital yet.

If they spread the virus to them, it may take over a week for the first round of people exposed to get sick and it just radiates out from there.
