Javadog's Next Adventure

For compost teas that stinky smell, like rotten eggs, means that you are no
longer growing the right bugs. It usually means that there was a die-off.

JD

P.S. A healthy tea does not smell bad.

Ever had a bean go all whackadoo and shoot up and out the root instead of the top
of the new sprout?

This happened to a Wild Thailand Regular bean for me this week.

I tried putting a little soil onto the root, to cover it up, but up popped
back out....this little thing was lost....

I ended up deciding that it was doomed and carefully removed it
from the beer cup.

What had happened: When I watered it the water drove the bean
deep into the soil....it might have been 2" or so down...doomed.

The funny thing is that I went ahead and replanted the sprout.

I watched at is seemed to actually take hold...and then it seemed unable
to get its helmet off.

Helmetectomy!

I am getting good at these things. LOL

Have a great day folks!

I cannot figure out the Attitude site....and what "Headband 707" is.

I see this there:
http://en.seedfinder.eu/strain-info/707_Headband/Humboldt_Seed_Organisation/

It is not a mistake, as the description includes "707 Headband is strong and vigorous."

But it also says that the cross is: Mendocino Elite Clone x True OG

Where seedfinder says:
http://en.seedfinder.eu/strain-info/707_Headband/Humboldt_Seed_Organisation/

Where the X is: {OG Kush x Sour Diesel} x Sour Diesel

Which is it?

JD

P.S. FWIW, I grew the old "Sour Kush" type of "Headband" before and it is Fat Kush type
of buds....the Headband that I am growing now has yet to show how much it will fill in and
fatten.

I grew a 707 HB 2 yrs ago, and it was a disappointment.
Not sure what version it was, the budtender just says what you want to hear
I wanted the real one, but thought this was same. I bought as a clone as I usually do.

Well, when the buds get that big, it is clear that they
have been well treated. I often get a bit of crispiness,
especially when working with new breeds.

Nice work!

I still have to take down the Blue Cheese, Headband, and
Chronic Thunder before I can switch out the hydro rig.
They look like they could go another month!

I always think they look bigger in pics, not to mention I purposely snapped the bigger buds.
57 days and all I see is clear trichs, so I think Ill be going a while longer as well
The SD and HB bud arent getting fat like those or even close.
Hopefully I can flower organic better, since they seem to burn during late flower for me.
Never happens to me outdoor even with chemical ferts.

Have you had the blue cheese before?
I am curious about smell/taste

I grew the barneys blue cheese, Let me dig up some pics. It turned a little blue, had a very cheesy leaning smell, lovely couchlock munchie happy weed.

I have Big Buddha Blue Cheese as the next slated plant in my garden to get chopped. Probably 2-3 weeks left on her. I will try to get a picture up JD.

I've pretty much avoided Barneys gear after I bought a 5 pack of Amnesia Lemon and got 5 different phenos.

Well BLJ, they were freebies, and *replacement* freebies at that,
damn you Government! :0)

Thanks for the good word bros.

It will be a month before I can enjoy that, but the Sour Power that
I had to take early is proving to be very effective. LOL This speaks
well for the much healthier run of this breed already back in the tent.

I am now running two Clone Kings:
IMG_5189.JPG

I am going to need to take a lot of clones over the next few months.

I lost the OG Kush lines the last time I grew them out because they
refused to root in soil. I will not be flowering things that have not made
healthy clones yet.

I am terrible at cloning and have bad luck with anything but areo

I have found that sometimes I can switch from water to soil
after waiting a few weeks and get roots on occasion. It is hard
to tell in advance, but I can attest to the fact that some breeds
seem to resist cloning very, very hard.

My house is in summer close to 80*, and right now 63*, maybe these temps are not conducive to rooting?
I have noticed with areo that intermittent spray seems to root fasrer
