To be fair:

1. Jesus was never illogical. Ever.
2. The Catholic Church actually endorses the big bang. It does, believe it or not, exactly match the creation described in the Bible.

What Christians try to do is over ride the message of Jesus with their own prejudices that are confirmed in the old testament.

Example: most Christians will tell you that gays should be put to death because it says so in Leviticus.

But in that same book it also dictates that anyone with tattoos, that read horoscopes, that commit adultery, that plant the wrong vegetables next to each other and much, much more should die as well.

But they ignore those parts because they partake in them.

It's the modern Christian that's the hypocrite, not Jesus.
