Hello friends! I've been taking a break from the cultivating scene for the last 6 months or so, but am happy to announce a brief return with my Winter Organic Garden. I love growing during the winter, as it brings out just the most beautiful colors and produces the best buds of any growing season (for me at least), so I figured I'd start a handful of beans and see what happens! My strains are...
2x Cali Connection "Original Sour Diesel": I had a wonderful previous experience with this strain, growing two absolutely beautiful and delicious plants which can be seen in my last thread.
2x Cali Connection "Sour OG" S1's: Previously, I pollinated my beautiful Sour OG #3 female with Sour OG pollen from the same progeny, and these are two of the seeds I produced.
2x TGA "Apollo 13 x Vortex": I bought these a while ago as pick-n-mix and never got around to growing them out. Have grown Space Queen and Querkle, liked them both tremendously.
2x Gage Green Genetics "Chemporer x Candy": These came as bonus seeds during an Attitude promotion. According to Maik: "Chemporer x Candy - Chemdawg x Emperor OG (Underdog OG x OG) x Candy (aka Underdog). The Underdog is known as Loompah's Headband, Candy Kush, and Underdog OG. They are a cut made by Loompah Farms and is gaining lots of notoriety as the best OG."
2x Connoisseur Genetics "Sour Hazy Jones": Casey Jones x Super Silver Sour Diesel Haze. Previously grew out two of these and got two males.
2x Elite Genetics "White Old Larry": This strain is White OG x (Old School OG x Lemon Larry OG), courtesy of Dwezelitsame. I'm very lucky to have these and quite excited to see how they turn out!
All of the above mentioned are regular seeds and sprouted over the past week. One of the White Old Larry's is about a week or so farther along than the others, as I attempted to initially germinate only 4 seeds: 1 Feminized Big Buddha Cheese, 1 Feminized Dinafem White Widow, and 2 White Old Larry's. Unfortunately, the Cheese and one White Old Larry failed to germinate, while the White Widow germinated but all growth appears stunted, leaving me with only one White Old Larry. The Cheese was pretty old and I suspected this may happen to it, but the others failed because I germinated in the wrong medium--usually I put a layer of Light Warrior on top of my heavy soil but having been away I forgot and germinated directly into the heavy soil, which was packed too tight for the seedling to push through. Still knocking a little rust off I guess...
Anyway, Initially I was resigned only to grow the 4 plants, banking on 3 being female, but have since changed my mind and decided 12 regulars was my best bet, hopefully yielding 6 solid females and 6 males for making seeds.
Medium: I grow in a base medium of Sunshine or BioBizz Light Mix, with up to 50% worm castings, and additives Mexican bat guano, kelp meal, alfalfa meal, azomite, rare earth, mycorrhizae, and dolomite lime.
Nutrients: I supplement as needed with the General Organics liquid fertilizers.
Light: 26w CFL's for seedlings/cuttings, 400w mh for veg and 600w hps for flower.
Containers: small black for young plants, medium and large white for older flowering plants.
Here are all the seedlings, under 8-26w cfls.
This is a closeup of one Apollo 13 x Vortex seedling. This one came up normally like the others, but both of the first serrated leaves seemed to be dead when it opened. I left it alone for last few days and it appears that new leaves are starting to push their way out, so it may be alright after all.
