Hello gents! I just set up my Lighthouse Hydro 4 x 4 x 6.5 tent (I forgot how nice it is!) and am getting ready to hang my reflector, but I'm not exactly sure which reflector I should go with, and would like some input from my gardening pals...you!

My options are: Sun System Yield Master II or Sun System Super Sun II.

The biggest difference is the size...the Yield Master is 22.75" l x 22.5" w x 7.24" h and the Super Sun is 26.5 l x 13.25 w x 8.0 h...though size is not an issue for me, as it will be illuminating my 4 x 4 x 6.5 tent.

I suppose the larger Yield Master will cover a greater area, but the Super Sun has received very high marks in other threads... http://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=51325

Any/all input is appreciated!

Once I get the reflector in and everything set up in the tent, I'll be transplanting into the medium-sized 1.5 gallon white pots. I will post an update as soon as that is complete.

In the meantime, here is a teaser as compensation...

have not used a reflector yet,but i think with your style of growing, you would be better off with the YM,cause of the
wide cover range,the SS,will direct light more down,but like i say,with you lsting,its not needed.IMO

plants look good to.

Something I just noticed regarding my reflectors: the Yield Master II is only angled on the interior sides, and therefore is only covered with reflective aluminum on those sides, whereas the Super Sun II is angled on the interior sides AND ends, and is completely covered on the interior with the aluminum. Though not nearly as wide, the Super Sun is a good 4 inches longer, and I think will have better coverage on the ends than with the Yield Master.

I'm going to start with the Super Sun I think and go from there.

All things being equal, I'd always go for the square reflector for a square space. But considering the lack of reflective insert on the Yield Master, I'd have to agree with your choice. Looking good, as per usual.

go with a sunlight supply blockbuster reflector AC 6", 25"x25"x10" so it has a perfect square footprint for a 4x4. My buddy got the yield master and immediately brought it back for the blockbuster and was not disappointed. I run one in my 4x4 tent and love it. I brought mine off greners.com, they had the best prices i could find anywhere. First day i had it running i stood up from a crouch and slammed my head right into the center of the glass on the reflector as hard as i could :dunce: i can vouch for the strength of the glass for sure cause i have no idea how it didn't break. AS long as i'm looking for a square footprint i Don't think i'll ever go with anything other than a blockbuster

I am currently in possession of a Yield Master and Super Sun, so my choices are kinda limited to one or the other, though I've heard just about everyone say they are quite satisfied with their Blockbuster. In the future I will consider upgrading, but for now I have to go with what I've got...

ahhhh gotcha man, yeah i'd have to go with the super sun based on reflectivity. the yield master must put out a nice foot print for the tent tho.

I have all of the above, as well as a couple CAP XXXtreme reflectors. I really do like the Blockbusters, and the XXXtreme's...

The filter is a diy...6" inner core and 8" overall diameter, I'm not sure how long they are though. I've got 2 of them...they use about 6 small size containers of aquarium charcoal and need to be changed every 2 months or so.
Does that actually save any money overall vs. buying a store bought carbon filter?
