Getting ready for very first harvest, whats the best tool to view trichomes?
+1 for that, much better than a loupe imo.I hate loupes. Hands are shaky and hard to tell if your seeing light refraction or actual cloudiness.
I suggest getting a usb microscope or try this.
Both ways you can record a video then you can scan the video for the best shots of the trichomes.
You miss alot with a loupe. Easy to study with a picture.
So you dont have a jewlers loupe or a usb microscope to check your trichomes
I've been on a search for a easier way to get a close look at trichomes. A jewelers loupe is cool but my hands shake to much to get a solid look nor does it take pics. A USB microscope is cool if I take a bud off to look at close but again my hand shakes to much to get great pics while looking...www.rollitup.org
That exact loop without the vivosun logo is $8, just FYI.That's what I use, like the one on the left. You can get clearer images from pocket microscopes, but I just use my phone to look through the 60x eyepiece and I can see the trichs quite well.

That's not the one I bought, it's just the same style. I could probably have found an image of a cheaper one, but I'm lazy in the morning. That exact loop without the vivosun logo is $8, just FYI.
What? That's a state of the art loupe. Actually it works as good as a new one. It magnifies which is all that's needed. But I never use a loupe. I go by the overall look of the plant. I haven't looked at the trichomes in a very long time.Soooooo.
What did they say its worth at the antiques road show???
Loupe was only $10, bat and worm shit was $70. Go figure. That's not the one I bought, it's just the same style. I could probably have found an image of a cheaper one, but I'm lazy in the morning.
Good. Glad you didn’t give vivosun $7 for spraying their name, lol. I too suffer from morning lazies. That's not the one I bought, it's just the same style. I could probably have found an image of a cheaper one, but I'm lazy in the morning.
My father was the largest antique dealer in Long Island. That looks like what he used when I was a kid to check karat stamps on gold. What? That's a state of the art loupe. When my sister was still around we'd go to antique shops looking for cool little things like that.My father was the largest antique dealer in Long Island. That looks like what he used when I was a kid to check karat stamps on gold.
Honestly it brought me back mentally to being a kid for a moment.
