Jiffy Peat Pellets!!!!!!! Helppppp!!!!!!!!!

So I just planted some germinated seeds in jiffy peat pellets, and I've heard a wide variety about what you're supposed to do with them. Am I supposed to keep them in the dark for a few days, until the sprouts are 1-2 inches tall? Or am I supposed to put them in the sun?????

any help is much appreciated

I woke up, and my seeds had sprouted, and broken out of the soil about half an inch, but since I was keeping them in the dark, the leaves were yellow, I just put them out in the sun, and I'm hoping that will get them to go back to green. Did I do this right?? Do you think they'll make it??

Also, is it good to keep em in a hot humid place at this time, because I put them under upside down clear plastic cups, and there is a ton of humidity inside the cups

i believe if you follow proper directions that would have come with the peat pellets, it probably tells you to put where it will get sun, but not in direct sunlight...

I dont think you should use jiffy peat pellets there crap go with mini rock wells nixt time i soaked mine in a very low dose nutes and i threw the seeds in the rockwells kept em in dark until they poped and i saw leaves then put em under a flourecent and there a month old and there geting nice :) when they get biger berry rockwell in soil forget to mention that:P

Why shouldn't you use jiffy peat pellets? And why the hell do you need to soak your rockwool in nutes to sprout seeds, seeds have amazing ability to store food in their "cotyledons" and can produce their own food until they begin an amazing process called "photosynthesis."

your plants want to have nutes and light straight away, as soon as they germ repot them and give them a root stimulator. Its prolly best to introduce them to normal condotions from the start, so no need for hot humid conditions
what medium/nutes you using?

"VERT LOW DOOSE" of nutes and i think jiffy pellets are crap cuz rockwells work 10X beter simple as that personaly never used jiffy pellets but my friend did and i saw wat was going on the whole time.

Ok keep spending your money on crap you don't need cuz a website or magazine told you too. It is a plant and has basic needs I will never buy stuff designed for marijuana its a scam.

Hey I got a question for you rockwool guys. If you aren't doing hydro, do you just bury the whole cubes in soil once the roots start coming out? I have pretty good luck with the paper towel method until it cracks then straight to soil, but I'm just curious.

BTW I use the wet paper towel just until they crack and the white root just barely pokes out. I see some guys leave it go until the thing gets like and inch long. Then straight to soil and under lights. Like someone else said, I like them to get light right from the start. I think it helps them better determine which way is up and I like that little bit of heat the lights throw off.

Don't know how much rockwool is, but they have 24 slot jiffy starter greenhouses with the pellets for under $5 at the local wal mart. I don't use them for starting seeds but I think they would work well for cloning.

They work well for cloning as well as starting seeds, I just use peat moss and perlite though 2 parts perlite to one part peatmoss in plug trays and put them in a big ziplock bag.

how the hell does that work?
i don't think they are supposed to get direct sunlight right away after they sprout. IDK... i read the directions on mine and they state...set greenhouse in a warm and bright location (not in direct sunlight)

don't shoot the messanger, i am quoting the directions on the back of my Burpee seed starting 10 pellet greenhouse kit...
