Jiffy pellets?

I'm using these jiffy pellet things, it's just like a round disk and it swells up into a small sack of compost when you put it in water but im not sure what to do after my seeds have germinated? Shall i put them in the jiffy pots then into my hydro system straight the way or wait till the seeds have a couple leaves on them before putting them into my clay-medium hydrosetup

Much help appreciated soon :)

thanks

I'm not much of a hydro person but I've read quit a few grows were people used rockwool to sprout the seed then put that into their hydro system....IDK if you can get rockwool but its just a thought....might want to wait for someone who know more on hydro before making a move

yes i would use rockwool cubes or starter plugs. sticking jiffy pellets in a hydro setup can be very bad news

eek well seens i didnt get a reply for a day or so i thought i'd just go straight ahead and plant, i've got 2 lowryders that have sprouted in my jiffy pelletes, they're sitting ontop of my clay pebbles at the minute, not in my hydro system yet but just sitting there germinating away

i cant change it now, what do you say i just carry on with it? :|

Here's a pic in this thread of my pellets

if your going to grow hydro start with rockwool or something not dirt because you'll have to wash the dirt off the soil when you put it in the hydro system i go with dirt on this grow if i was you then keep them those females as mothers to take clones off of and put the clones in your system with rockwool.

Your still ok,just let the jiffy plugs grow out a little with roots & tear open the little shit covering the outside of them, take the bare plugs & soak them in ph'ed water for a few minutes & that peat moss stuff will fall off around the roots, you might have to play with it a little bit but its not hard to get the roots clean & free of debris.

peat pellet ph is about 5, tap water NOT DISTILLED has nutrients that give it a ph of about 7. Just soak pellet in tap water it will give the pellet a ph of 6.3 to 6.8 my pellets usually end up with a ph of 6.7 which is basically ideal for a soil grow, for a hydro grow it needs to be a ph of no higher then 6.5 and no lower then 6. Ive seen people grow there plant to 2 sets of leave before they transfered pellet to soil so dont worry about transplanting quickly just take dome off of pellets when seedling sprouts out of pellets or humidity will rot out your roots. Also a balanced ph helps plant accept nutrients. Hope this helps
