can i germ my seeds in the jiffy starters and take the sprouts straight into the hydroton in my dwc system while still in the starter pellet (after the roots are developed obviously) or will it cause problems in my res?

if you can start them in rockwool cubes that would be ideal. but i have given my friend a few clones started in jiffy cubes then put in party cups with soil he says he just rinses them off in water before putting them in his hydro system. hope this helps good luck

Just started a batch of clones that are in jiffy pucks in a hydro system. If the water levels are set right, the pucks will hardly ever get wet again, especially in a dwc where the water level is below the basket anyway.

If the roots are coming out all over, you could peel away jif, and rinse them off under water then put into hydro.

If you are on a budget its better to start seeds in a cup of perlite. just make sure to cover the tops with paper so you don't get algae in your hydro system

Stole this pic from some where
