When ever i roll joints i can never tuck i get everything good then it just won't tuck and stay there i dont know why any tips?

Practice, Practice, Practice!

Seriously, my brother used to always roll the blunts and joints then he finally got mad that I never did. So I went and bought a 1/4 of some shitty weed, a box of 'rillos and a pack of papers and literally practiced for a whole night. Smoked that first J I rolled like I owned the town.

when that happens to me i carefully fold over the excess paper that is sticking past the gum and then retighten a bit before sealing

Use a cig roller... they are about 3$ at the smoke shop. I have pretty bad R.A and carpal tunnel and when I try to roll by hand by arms shake too much it all lands on the floor. I add a filter by taking a half inch strip of paper and roll it into a filter size piece then insert it before the weed allows me to smoke all the way to the paper and not leave too many roaches left over

Watch videos on youtube and use lots of tobacco to practice. Once you manage with tobacco get your herb out and try to roll 5 joints to smoke. Keep on rolling them while smoking others. End of it you will ace it :)

I roll joints all the time and I have no frickin clue what you mean by tucking... Roach + paper + weed in paper + roll + lick + final stick down = done...

Where does the tucking fit in to it?

Also just in case I sound offensive, I'm not intending to be I really want to know where the tucking comes in to it, or what style of rolling you are using...

It's the best way. Since then, I've told/ made so many of my friends to do the same thing. It really is the only way to learn. (Practice that is)

I don't get how everyone elses roll either to tell you the truth...I don't need to keep a finger on the paper while flipping the paper around...I just let the paper slide under the other side and that's it...
Gives me a perfect joint everytime with NO lumps. With the other technique I can only imagine how hard it is not to get a lump in the joint...

i think thats really the way to go...stay up all night til you nail one because i as well had a buddy who would(even while driving) roll the joints finally he was like dude u need to get this down and i tried and tried until they were proper! when you can roll one at a red light thats when your pro lol....and for the guy asking about the tuck im pretty sure he means the roll, getting the ungummed side to stay in and not just slide up to the gum..if thats any easier to understand..im thinking its not lol

i think by tucking he means getting the front of the paper to stay in place and exposing only the glue when he licks it, while still keeping everything in perfect shape. if you're having problems with tucking i suggest you use thinner paper.

i'd compare it to blunt rolling. there are a lot of people who roll beautiful blunts who can't roll a joint for shit. that's because with a blunt the paper is so thick you don't really need technique because you can cover it up and spit all over it and make it stick and it will still burn fine, and that doesn't work with joints. i can't roll a blunt the way i roll joints precisely because of this tucking business, so i think i understand the op's problem. zigzags are garbage, also. still too thick. thinner papers. do it.

i like the french papers in the white package with the blue guy on the front....i think they are still zigzags but they are extra thin...might be tops idr

I don't think paper thickness makes a huge difference, I learned with vouges (and still use them) and there on the thicker side.

Have you tried pre rolling the paper? I had a buddy who did that all the time and he always rolled perfect Js
(by pre rolling I mean rolling between your fingers until the middle fold is gone

I think I understand exactly what is meant now after your description Total Head, Thinking about it now I can't actually imagine what else tucking could refer to when rolling....

Noproes - Mate, First thing first, how dexterous are your fingers..? cause without a lot of practice if you don't have good control of your fingers you'll fail hard at rolling anything to smoke cigarette or joint... All you need to do is practice, I've never had a problem with joints because I'm terribly nicotine addicted and I roll cigarettes all day everyday

Secondly Noproes what papers are you using to roll with? it really does make a difference, I would suggest from my own experience that to start with rolling standard cigarette papers is just a tad bit easier than the slightly larger joint papers....

All my friends learned to roll from their parents, including me. I feel like I've never known not how to roll. Still run into people my age (26) who can't roll, some straight up potheads too. Fuckers carry glass with them wherever they go.

Either way OP, You're just gonna have to practice. I feel like it's hard to describe in words, don't wanna try, lol.

Don't be jelly of my mad ms-paint skills, lol. But this is roughly how I roll a joint.

Hope it kinda makes sense?

First I roll the weed up so it's kinda of together, in the shape of a joint. Then I move the part of the paper closest to me down. Then roll it back up.

hopefully that makes sense cause I spent far too long making that shitty pic not to use it, lol.
