yup top feed,100 ml/l sounds crazy high, mines 5ml/l for pots and 10ml/l for in ground.Get ph of it about 7 or even 7.5 to correct your low ph.

this is what I have EVOLVE Organic Fish Bloom 2-3-1

https://www.dirtngrow.com/lawn-and-garden
Ok, so I'll mix it at 100ml/L as instructed and you had said 500 ml or so, so that would mean 50 ml in 500 ml for their recommended concentration. First I will flush my reservoir with just de-chlorinated tap water, then add the liquid fish i have. I am only going to do this in the SIP that has the two Hulkberry in it as the Tropicana Banana in the other SIP seems to be doing a bit better, although not perfect. I guess if I'm overfed already the result will be more lockout or lightening of the foliage, and if I'm underfed, i should get darker green, more color in my leaves. Guess we'll see what happens. :)

ya just slowly add from the top around the stem, not supposed to let it run through.
I gave my 10g sips almost two litres of fish yesterday by slowly adding all around,no runoff happened and the dirt is soaked.

Ph'd the solution of 500 ml @ concentration of 100ml/L and it comes out as 4.4. What can i add to ph up it before i add it?

reduce it by half,so 50ml/l.ph up you can mix baking soda water in a separate container tablespoon to a gallon.mix then use that water to mix with fish.again go 50ml/l not the 100.Were just trying to see if some instant food helps.

Ok, i'll give that a go, thank you myke.

All flushed, and added fish, 500 ml, @50 ml/L, and 7.8 ph by adding bit of baking soda. Added a couple photos to see what they did look like. Hopefully, I'll see an improvement, and if not at least like you said it should tell me something. Thanks for your time and help again myke.:peace:

I ph'd the soil. 6.0 ph Is that too low? If so, how should I try to amend it? If my ph is a bit out of range, and I bring it back with some sort of amendment, won't my possible over feeding just be made worse because nutrients will become more available?
Yes, 6.0 is a little low for soil. Did your read that medium pH correction thread? In that he just uses higher pH water to bring his medium pH up.

maybe the EM has messed things up I dont know. If plants keep getting worse you'll have to try something.
I'm not sure if this relates at all, but anytime I've ever run Em-1 with freshly mixed coots, my plants hated it. Too rich for the plant.
@Nugnewbie have you added anything else ( other than the fish you just added) i run sips with a simplified coots mix and they usually green right up after transplant.

No, I haven't read the medium ph correction thread. I will search for it thank you. Well, I assume if I add a little less activated EM, the reservoir will be a bit higher ph, due to the low ph of the activated EM (4.0 ish) .

Well, I did amend with 4-4-4 and ewc, twice, so far. But, I didn't amend with that this week.

Also adding OSF (oyster shell flour) or Dolomite will slowly raise the pH. Adding EWC like you did will help buffer the pH too.
If I were to add a bit of oyster shell flour, how much should I add knowing my soil ph is 6.0? My SIPs are supposed to hold 2.0 cu ft, or 15 is gallons. I didn't fill them right to the top, knowing I would be top dressing periodically throughout the grow. I have some. 20220403_190255.jpg

Not sure how much you want to add at a time. It's really mild though. It's got a lot of Ca, so I don't use it unless it's in one of my mixes, since my well water already has enough Ca. I try to limit my Ca inputs so I don't cause lockouts of Mg and K.

Maybe if I used ro water in the reservoir, then I also wouldn't be adding CA from my tap water? Then I would be safer using the oyster shell flour? I don't know.

Careful with the baking soda. It's got sodium in it. It's fine, just don't use too much. An overdose of sodium isn't gonna make plants happy.

Maybe use OSF to increase pH solution instead. It's supposed to be water soluble.

Yeah, I guess i could try to dissolve some into some ro water, and top water that in. I won't use my garden sprayer though. o_O
