just an estimate

anyone here has an idea to get me started ...my last grow 14 girls in 3 gallon pots yeilded 7 ounces dry that was my first grow and it looked and smelled and tasted like kush...perfect!!! but it wasnt enough 4 me..so im wondering for me to grow 20 girls in 7 gallon pots and expect 6 ounces dry per female...what type of lighting setup do you guys think i would need???? oh and i grew all the way through miracle grow soil and i plan on doing that again... any suggestions on helping with a 6 ounce or better dry yeild???

It's too late to start that project outside. To grow 20 plants for 6 oz. each you will need at least
a 2-car garage of space if not more. Stand up and spread your arms as wide as you can. That's
about how much room you will need for each plant.

Instead of trying to put the drug gangs out of business why don't you try to figure out why your last
yield was so puny? If you are not happy with a half-oz/per in 3-gallon pots I don't blame you. Should have
cured at least twice as much. But the next step is to improve the quality of your growing. Not the quantity.
Jumping from .5/per to 6.0/per with your experience is not a realistic goal. Get your basic info from here
and try to at least manage a respectable 1.0/per next grow. Most of us experienced guys won't bother trying
to help someone who doesn't have realistic expectations. Shoot lower and you might hit something.

2000 watts

i bloom 4-6 decent size plants at a time... yielding about 2 oz per plant. That's very manageable. You would need to hire people out to get 6 oz per plant for 20 plants. You are talking about generating 120 oz every 2-3 months. That's cartel status.


btw... it takes 600 watts (HPS) for me to bloom 4-6 good sized plants that produce 2 oz (dry) per plant. So for 20 plants that make 3 times as much per plant... you are talking, in my estimation, 3000 watts minimum... maybe/probably a lot more. That would be lights overhead, lights on the floor, and lights on the sides.

hey mbp what size pots are you using....and also thanxs for a str8 estimate from you and smoke joint ..i didnt ask that other guy shit about growing outside or anything just estimates on lighting...im not fucking worried about space and i used flourescents on my first grow with a few cfls and i vegged 4 weeks and flowered 7 or 8 weeks ...thats why it was so puny....noww can i have light setup estimates daaam!!!!lmmfao!!!

5 gallon pots... straight from seed... or 3 gallon pots for my clones (clones and seeds root very differently... so starting a clone in a plastic cup and jumping to a 5 gallon pot is "too big" of a jump... hence the 3 gallon).

if you're going to invest in more than one lighting systems, it might be best to create a grow room and a bloom room. That way, you can continuously move plants through. Rather than do a ton at a time.... waiting 2-3 months to veg and 2-3 months to bloom. You know?

yeah i have two rooms....i was thinking continue to use cfls for clones but in the flower chamber 2 600 watt hps...that should do good for say 10 0r 15 instead of 20...ya think??

Two 600w should be good for 10-12 good size plants (2-3' flowering in 5 gallon pots)... should get you about 2 oz primo weed per plant + extras.

you'll need more than a few cfls to veg your plants.


After growing for 4 (?) years now... I just bought a second 600w hps (adjustable to 400w and 600w turbo... still trying to figure that out) and created a dedicated grow (veg) room. I don't know your level of skill, but I would suggest going that route, especially if your a beginner. If you have the money to buy two hps systems, do that. Create a grow room with one... and a bloom room with the other. If you have more money, buy to LED systems and use them the same way.

Grow out 4-6 decent size plants for 2-3 months... Then bloom those 4-6 decent size plants for 2-3 months as your growing the next generation. You'll get 8-12 oz every 2-3 months.

If you know your shit and have 100 watts per plant (20 plants/2000 watts/100 watts per plant) Veg them babies to a few feet and you can hit ALOT more than 2 oz per plant.Cummon seriously dude..2 oz a plant..please someone back me up here...Of course it is strain dependent to , but 2 oz is like noob status...i just got about 3 oz off a plant that i only vegged to 8 inches under a 250 watt in soil..now if you wanna go further , you could sea of green 40 small plants in that space you were gonna put 20 big ones into , THEN 2 oz per plant is a good number per plant

2 + oz primo weed plus extras. I'm selective of the quality of what buds I dry and cure. there's plenty of leftovers that are turned into butter and hash.

I supercrop and veg to just over a foot... and finish when they are at or under 3 feet. 6 plants at a time uner one 600w hps. I end up with 2+ oz primo dense weed and a big gumball size of hash per plant.

Ya Smokejoint, this seems realistic.. I have a suspicion that a lot of people stunt there plants feeding to many nuts,, and it affects there yield. and they don't even know it. or they don't use there lights right.. He can get some true 250 watt CFLs or bring the big guns.. get some 600s so with good soil and some great lights, is goal to increase yield is going to be a cake walk..

Well i dont agree with the 4-6 plants thing but if you did grow 20 plants under 2000 watts and got 2 ounces per plant that is still a kilo harvest and close to a half gram per watt ,which imo is easily obtainable..get it dialled in to a gram per watt and you have 2 kilos per harvest

you really let a seedling grow to 8 inches, put it into bloom, and come out with 3 oz? I'm still stuck on that....

yes we are .See ,when you put a plant in flower at a young age ,it shoots up like crazy ,i still ended up with a 4 foot plant after it stretched.
