Just got an ebb and grow system. The problem im having is during the flood cycle the pump from the res to the control unit starts, and even when the float switch goes off, the control unit continues to get water from the res.

Ive unplugged both pumps to be sure but the water keeps on coming, I assume it has something to do with the gravity like gas siphoning would., Ive repositioned the pump in the res a few times to no avail. Any help to fight gravity?

when it fills the controller it turns off, now the buckets are still filling so the pump will turn on again untill they are all full to the same level the pump will keep going on and off

but after the float switch is up, all the buckets continue to fill because the pump that turns off, dosent stop the water flow. Read before you reply

Your fitting on the res to the brain bucket should have a hole in it. This stops the syphoning that is happening.

yeh sorry bud, the anti siphon valve would have been my next conclusion, if noise is a problem some people think extending the valve by tubing into the res will stop the sound which ofcourse is a big no no.. but you can tie rap the valve to the side of the res.. im ebb n gro too.. good luck

Yeah, that little hole is important. It sucks air and prevents siphoning.

Once you conclude your harvest, you should make your own buckets. Those ebb and gro buckets are small as hell. I replaced mine with 3 gallon buckets. Very easy to do. Definately don't miss dealing with all the hydroton though.
