Roxy after we bailed her out of doggie jail. She takes up most of her sleeping pad now.
My dog took off and got himself sent to the pound. I came to get him and told them to put a chip in him "and don't be too gentle about it" because I wanted him to learn that running away was not acceptable.

Harley never ran away again. Instead, he ran HOME, sometimes from miles across town! To this day, I have no idea what they did at the pound, but it worked!

Dog tax, this from when he was pretty old. He lived to be 17.

Roxy has our phone # and address on her tag, she goes the same direction down the road every time she escapes. I've had the same guy bring her back more than once. She follows the route that my son used to take her on walks. My son in law is bad about making sure the gate latches when he goes out back.

All regular visitors at my house know the rules , make sure the door is shut properly when you leave . I'm not shy about it , I tell them that I like them a lot but my little buddy is the world to me . If you leave the door open and he gets hurt leave town before I find you .

He'd likely find his own way home and everyone in the neighborhood knows him , but he's 10 inches tall and the color of pavement . Pretty hard for drivers to see .

I can tell you he's not spoiled one little bit lol I feel you on that one

That's one handsome boy ! My neighbor has a 2 year old Redbone , he's a big goofball . Does yours have the Redbone voice ?
Sometimes. He sings at one homeless guy getting cans on recycle day, and the french bully next door if they are about. Overall not too vocal but more so than my american bulldog and staffie
