Just doing my thing. Pics included!

Just some pictures of how my baby's are doing and what i have for a set up they are on 18/6 i have two strains and hoping to cross them and create my own strain one day. any tips to help make this better?

Looks good man! What is your set up, what strains? You said you want to breed, then you need more then 2 strains, also I assume you want to keep the males separate and scrape pollen so that your whole plant doesnt have seeds just a few nugs.

I have 5 gallon pots under 2 t5 florescent lights 99% reflective material on the walls with a osl fan and heater. i water them every other day before i go to work and give them some nutes once/twice a week i dont have a clue what strains they are just got some really good seeds from a friend. this is my first try at this and i have spent hours and hours reading form after form book after book and also talking to the locals who also do this. so now i finally decided to sign up on here and get more info and share my thoughts

Great Job so far! Welcome Aboard to RIU! Only one thing I can suggest...2 t5 lights are not gonna keep you happy that long. Not enough penetration. t5's work but the really need to be in greater numbers and/or even combined with other forms of light (CFL,LED, or of course better HID) But so far they are nice and healthy looking, close nodes and doing well. +rep for doing your homework BEFORE you started. Most do not and the newbie forum get's mad bombed with repetition. Hopefully you will be an asset to the community.

The t5s are what i could get for now i have heard good and bad things about them but they seem to be working for me

Im looking into getting two 600w sodium lights and ballasts once i save up a little bit that is haha

also looking into a carbon filter so i can keep everything more stealth i have a plan for what im getting and how to set everything up but this takes time and lots of homework on what products to stay away from and what ones will help me out in the long run

Again the t5's work for now but as they grow and mature and for sure when they are flowering you want much more light then just the 2 t5's. By looking at the 1st pic I think 1 1K switchable, dimmable, and digital. Would be a great way to go. But you are gonna go with what you choose and that is good. Just offering suggestions.

ill defiantly look into that! seems like it would be a little easier to have in my set up

where are you planning on shopping for this equipment?

And actually the 2 600w would work good as well in fact maybe even better. You can use MH in one and HPS in the other...can't go wrong.

... in fact I am sure it would be better. But more expensive and higher power consumption.

I'm trying to stay off the online sites but i do shop around anyway just to see what is all out there.

There is a plant shop in my town and i get most of my growing supply's from there or from my local hardware store but i don't buy everything i need at once i normally buy one or two things i need just so it doesn't look bad when im standing in line

It's not illegal to garden. As long as your don't have $10,000 worth of gear, if you wanna order a few things online don't be AFERD. You can save some cash! But still always support your local shop!

So two 600w lights would be better for me then eh? even though ill have too buy two of the lights, balest, and hoods if i wish to use them as well

Yup that's about the size of it. Don't get me wrong...the 1k will work very well on it's own, extremely well. But the 2 600w with both spectrums going would do a bit better.

Have you looked at HTG Garden supply online?
