Just got busted with 3 plants but recieved no charges.?.?

I just had an interesting morning.. I was sitting here on the couch and a loud knock came at the door... I answered the door and it was 2 police officers. They immediately asked me.. "How much weed do you have in here?".. At first I said none but they could smell it.. The one said "Don't lie to us, we can smell it strong right now".. So they came in and searched around and found my bowl and a bag with about a half oz in it... Then they found my little grow tent in my bedroom with 3 plants about 2 weeks away from harvest... They looked very surprised like they only expected to find me with a bag of weed like one of the neighbors called on me for smoking or something... They did not charge me with anything... They did not take my ID or ask for my social security number or anything like that either... I thought this was strange because the place I live in is not in my name.. They did still know who I was though... But they gave me nothing at all, no kind of paper work... I did not even hear either one of them call it in on their radio... They took my 3 plants.. They actually had me cut them down and one took pictures while I did it... Then they told me that a NARCO Officer would be in contact with me soon.... Again, they gave me no charges or paperwork of any kind and never actually checked my ID or Social, one of them even said "We are not going to charge you because I don't feel like doing that paperwork for the processing and stuff.." But they said a NARCO Officer would be in contact... Then they walked out with my cut up plants, my bag of weed, and my bowl... They left the grow tent, the grow light, and all the grow equipment and told me to get rid of it.. They said to sell it and get some of my money back for it...

Did I just get lucky and only get jacked by the police? Or should I be expecting some kind of summons or indictment to be coming my way? Any opinions would be great..

Were they uniformed? Do you have a medical card? Did they have a warrant? Or did some guys just smell weed, knocked, said they were cops and took all your shit? If it's the latter then it's just hilarious! Sorry - just is..

Not entirely true, if you cannot provide documentation or if it's completely illegal, the smell gives them probably cause so no warrant necessary. In the US anyway, you are in Canada, aren't you sunni? Anyhow, no matter where this happened - he got straight jacked.

Yes... They were uniformed officers in Columbus, Ohio... That is everything they took.... Just the plants, my bag of weed and my bowl.... left everything else and told me to get rid of it.. I said ok i will throw it away as soon as you leave and one said, no just get it out of here or sell it for some money back... No charges, no paperwork, no id or social check... etc... you all read the original post so you get the point right.. I mean WTF happened to me today?

O, and as for the warrant... I looked out my peep hole but could not see anything but a blurry face so I opened the door and it was 2 cops... they smelled the weed and no warrant was required... But as long as they were here I did not see one of them call anything in..

I really hope they just jacked me and tried to scared me because it fucking worked... I hope this was the end of it and I hope they are just going to use those pictures to make fun of me with their cop friends and be like "Look, Look... We made this kid cut his plants down and then walked out with it..."

Probably a couple of male strippers coming back from a night gig, smelled some pot and decided to roleplay some more. If that's the case, my hat is off to them.

you got robed , real cops would of had a warrant. and took plants equipment and (you ) they were fake cops. im sure they doo this all the time. next time let them kick the door in ! your lucky they did not tie you up or kill you .

Move all the equipment out. Contact an attorney in Columbus that specializes in cultivation, buy a hour of his time and talk with him about it. Did you get the officer's names? Write down everything that happened and the times. You live in an appt? They may notify the owners so be prepared for that. Good Luck

Yea.. They were real cops... I heard the radios going off with other cops talking about other things... They had real police issue Glocks that were pointed at me when they searched me for weapons... This all caught me so off guard and I just finished taking like 5 big wake and bake wax dabs on my new rig so I wasnt in the right mind to remember to do anything like get names and badge numbers and stuff... And the way they just left everything else and told me to sell it for some money back was kind of weird... I'm hoping they just didn't want to deal with the paperwork and everything because it wasn't anything big.. I was just growing a couple plants for personal use because I hate dealing with people on the streets that just like to rob you all the time. I get migraines and need my cannabis to help because doctors wont give me shit.. I told them about all this and was very cooperative with them and it was just weird they would leave all that stuff. it's like they are giving me a chance to get rid of the evidence except the weed...

^^^ DO NOT do what some are suggesting above!!

Even if they were real cops they did not follow procedure in any shape or form. You tell your landlord about it and will likely get kicked out of the apartment. There is no sensible reason to do that. In all likelihood you will never hear from those cops again. And if they do come back, it will be to shake you down again probably. But sure as hell do not contact the landlord - that would be plain stupid.

Yea... I don't plan on contacting my landlord but they told me they already knew (about me smoking, not the growing) and that I will probably be getting kicked out... But they said they weren't going to be pressing charges on me or telling my apartment manager about it. they said a narco officer will be getting in touch with me soon, took my phone number, and left with a tub of my cut up weed plants, bag of weed, and a bowl i have had for like 10 years..

You never know I have seen many cops 'turn a blind eye' to avoid doing paperwork over BS

If they thought you had some major operation going on / or something else and then only found a few plants and a OZ , This is likely what happened
