Just got seeds in the mail and its cold!!!! Are they DOA???

I forgot to check the mail today and they came, of course, and its super cold!!! 19 degrees outside right now. Are my seeds ok or are they fucked???

They're fine. I keep mine in the refrig, some even keep theirs in their freezer. I dont go that far but yeah, your good.

Yeah that should be no problem at all, I have had seeds around similar temps and they have germinated without a problem. I now keep my seeds In a small black case/bag in a dark draw, never had a problem. Good luck growing!

Your fine. I order mine near Christmas every year, (more mail = over worked mail handlers = my package gets through) and store them in the fridge for years after that. I just let them sit at room temperature for a few days/week before I pop them.

it only effects them after you germ ,keep them warm after you plant and they will love you until you cut it down and then it will be you fucker lol

aren't seeds just amazing? The abuse they can take and still germinate.

if you think about it, it makes sense.The plants senses winter is coming and drops seeds in order to survive the next year. They lie there in and on the ground all winter. Come spring, they germinate and start over.

I think it's ironic that a seed can take all that abuse from Mother Nature but some guys still can't get them to germinate because they insist on complicating the ever loving hell out of the germination process.

duds are way more rare than people think. you should be able you buy one seed and get it to germ every time. its a seed. it wants to grow. thats its only job.

My sentiments exactly !!!
I could tell you a story about how robust marijuana seeds are from my years working at a Waste Water Plant and finding germinated seeds growing in our sludge holding lagoons after going thru the treatment process and just being left alone and letting mother nature do it's thing.........and before anyone asks.....no we or I never was tempted to harvest and smoke any of the hundreds of mature fully budded plants that I came in contact with during my tenure there and I was there 17 years !

You might want to warm things up if you want them to germinate properly.

Professional seed breeders keep their inactive bean stock around 40 degrees F for long-term storage. Beans are shipped well wrapped if from a reputable seller and are protected from the elements.
