Yes from what I've read 301 h or B doesn't matter but apparently they are different?
My experience with kingbrite and meijiu the kingbrite has covenient connections and it runs equally on hot on both sides with a hlg, the meijiu connection are a hazard and the boards run 9c hotter at one side unless wired right and left with a elg/cheaper one.
I was sharing my personal experience.
And I 100% appreciate you sharing your experience because companies and products change along with their views and sometimes it is a good thing. A good sign of growth and apparently IQ.
the 301b/301h has been addressed a bit and by light manufacturers like greengenes (PLC) and stephenj (HLG) stating they were the same diode. These people deal directly with samsung and aren't just some dudes looking at samsungs (sometimes incorrect and inflated) data. It looks like greengenes removed his video covering this (or I just cant find it) but the video response from another person (at which he was called out for misinfo) is still up on youtube.. Also from another forum of an email from a samsung rep I think last year:
"The real story with the 301H is that they are identical to the 301B. They are just marketed to different markets and their data is presented accordingly. They both have the same photon or luminous efficacy (depends how you want to look at it). There is no tweaking or special phosphor used, the anti sulphurization coating and stronger bind wires (which is key in many harsher environments, but especially horticulture) is the exact same on both parts. But since they were gaining so much traction in the horticulture market with the 561c and 301b years back, they decided to cater specifically to that market and give them a unique data sheet that works for the specific industry; micromoles rather than lumens for the case of the 301H. "
Not sure if you still pay more for a 301H vs 301B but that use to be the case when buying from china and I would always ask for 301Bs.
Not trying to call you out or anything I love this shit and just want to know all I can about it and help others while doing so. If I'm wrong along the way, great! I'm achieving what I set out to do and learning. Appreciate what you have to bring to the table!
