My name is James. Getting ready to start my second grow and looking for the right way to do it. Learned from many mistakes the first time. Just waiting on a few more supplies to come in. I'm going to be using a 60x31x80 tent and two t5 ho 2 ft 8 lamp fixtures. Still curious about a few things but hopefully I'll be able to find the info here before I have to start asking questions. There are some inspiring setups here.

Welcome to RIU, and the wonderful world of cultivating the world's most misunderstood and

feared medicines!!!

The only 'advice' I can give you or anyone is to read and learn and then apply what you have read and learned to your garden and you cannot fail. Anyways, remember the search tool is your friend...Lots of folks here willing to help a new farmer get up and growing. But at the end of the day your grow will be only as good as the knowledge and work you put into it.

It is always great to ask questions but do not take anyone's advice or opinions and follow blindly. And remember anyone may have a well-known member status…but that means they have posted and responded to many threads and does not always mean well-educated growerz. Do your own research, you will be much happier knowing you have done it for yourself and by yourself. The first buzz you get from your own budz...is by far the BEST high you will ever have!

Do a search using your current question as the keyword(s) and ZOOOM!! Like Wonka's Great Glass Elevator…off you go to tons of threads answering all your questions. Read all the Newbie Central stickies and learn…

Soaking up all that information and sifting through it, is going to take time. You will likely finish your first grow by then. Viola! grow complete and education well under way.

My order from seed supreme finally shipped. I ordered 1 white berry fem, 1 taison auto fem, 1 lsd-25 auto fem, and 1 narco purps auto fem. They said I'll be getting two freebies also. For the first grow in this setup I was just gonna plant the taison and narco purps. Hopefully one of the freebies isn't an auto seed because I have been reading about the scrog method and I think I'm gonna try that for my second grow. Thanks for the inspiration $bkbudz$. I'll get some pics up as soon as I have everything in and together. Hopefully I'll have the last piece of the puzzle here soon. One of the t5 fixtures I ordered wasn't working but I should have the replacement here soon. I do have a question about ventilation and fans though. The room my tent is in stays around 70 degrees. Will a fan in the tent pointed at the lights keep them from getting too warm? I plan on getting a fan filter ducting combo but it'll be a month or so before I can.

My 8 bulb 2' T5HO fixture is in a 2'×2.5'×4' closet and the fixture really heats that space up. I just bought a $23 6inch VenTech duct fan and a thermostat controller($25) for it on Amazon. Installed it in the top and it does a good job to keep the space at the right temperature. For $23 dollars it may help you to control your temps better until you can buy a inline fan. The duct fan is a good purchase because if you ever need a backup fan you will have one.

That sounds like $48 well spent. I've seen those fans on amazon, just didn't really know how effective they would be. Do you have the fan pulling air from the light and exhausting or is the fan blowing on the light? If it was blowing on the light would that be enough of a breeze for blowing on the plants as well to help beef up the stems or would I need another fan also? Thanks for the help venom.

Its pulling the heat out of the cabinet. I tried to push the air out of the cabinet with ducting but it caused too much back flow on the fan making it useless. The duct fan sucks the hot air out of the top of the cabinet and at the same time pulls in fresh cooler air through the 4" passive intake from the bottom of the cabinet.

Finally got around to posting a few pics. This is day 9 for my ladies. From left to right they are LSD-25, Taison, and Narco Purps. Lookin good so far for the most part. The taison is droopy and has kind of a week stem. I may have used the wrong soil and this might be the problem. I went with Fox Farm Ocean Forest because my local garden shop was out of Happy Frog. Thought it would fine then read that it burns up a lot of seedlings. I think she's gonna pull through though. Just put them in the jiffy pots about 4 days ago. Temp stays at a steady 70 degrees and the humidity ranges from 50 to 60 percent.

And btw, I don't have any venting set up yet but I have a 6 inch clip fan blowing on the top of the light and hitting the plants a little and it is really taking care of the temps.

That light was only $80 with free shipping on amazon. I have another on the way because the other one I ordered wasn't working. I read about people switching all the bulbs with 3000k bulbs and getting way to much stretch. So I was gonna order 8 bulbs and only switch out 4 on each light. I'm not gonna swap them all at once though. I'm going to do 1 lamp per light every couple days once I see signs of all of them flowering.

Currently running one plant under the same fixture right now. 4 bulbs are 6500k and 4 bulbs are 3000k. I just mixed them in the fixture and plan to run the same setup through flower for this plant. I do plan to scrog the plant after i top it a couple more times. That way the canopy receives even lighting through flower. I keep the fixture about 6 inches from the top of my plant and haven't had any real stretching problems.

The power went out while I was sleeping and the ac in the room where my tent is quit working for a while and the temp went from 70 to 84 for a few hours. That's a pretty big jump I think. Any chance that'll hurt my ladies?

Got even worse last night. Ac completely died. Temp was almost 100 for who knows how long. Got a new ac but it doesn't work as well. Temps been mid 70s today. Hope this one holds up. Don't know how much heat stress the ladies will tolerate.
