im in the UK, is this stuff available anywhere locally 1st? b&q / homebase etc?

im going to try find this hydro store on sat so it depends on a few things what i buy.

but just a question,

could i just use molasses for nutes in flowering? i dont really know what it does, is it some type of sugar? how will it help the plants?

also, if this stuff is cheap, could i use other flowering nutes with it? or is it best to just use one type of nute?

Ive added "sugars" starting on week one of flowering till the end.

Ive heard of just people adding molasses during the grow with Ph'd water.

semms to work so i couldnt see why not for you

I used Molasses for the final two weeks of flowering with EXTREMELY great success! Don't know how it works in a Hydro set-up, but worked wonders in soil. Doing CoCo next!

Yeah, this is the real magic. No one really seems to know how it works. I can tell you these things for certain:

It is available in a grocery store near the syrups and baking supplies. It seems to be either sorgum molasses or blackstrap molasses. Stuff is cheap; a couple bucks for a pint. Stuff goes pretty far, because you use a tablespoon full, in a gallon of warm water. I used it and it did seem to improve the growth of my plants. Some people believe it improves the taste of the smoke.

I've heard they call molasses treacle in the U.K. so you might want to look for that too. It is really meant to be a supplement not a main nutrient.

incognito...i've really struggled to find any molasses in UK stores...did manage to find granulated molasses at Tesco(if this helps) but having just discoverd we call it treacle (cheers ganjababy  ) im off to asda, or sainsburys or tesco or......and will grab a tin of the stuff.
the simpliest explanation i've heard is it works the same way asit does in humans...i.e. too many complex carbs makes us fat and there4..makes the buds fat too.

I know that molasses has some nitrogen and potassium, but shouldn't be used for those reasons since its pretty insignificant

You also want "unsulpherated" molasses.

I can see it being a prob in the UK. I think its more of a US (the south in peticular) type thing.

Its a by-product from making table sugar. (yup, sell the waste)
Molasses & sugar = brown sugar.

k...googled itand found this on wisegeek.com:
"Molasses is a thick, brown to deep black, honey-like substance made when cane or beet sugar is processed. It is enjoyed as a sweetener in many countries, and most particularly in England where it is called treacle."

Molasses comes from sorgum cane and the juice is pressed like sugur cane. A primary use of sorgum is to make rum.

And if you are trying to find the stuff in the UK, also look in stores that supply farm feed and supplies. Sometimes it is used to get cows eating a differnet hay mix.
