Just ordered fan/filter combo, heat issues.

Well, Title says it basically, I ordered a fan/filter/ducting combo to use with my 1000 watt hps cool tube, I only have a 5000 btu ac in my grow room, and the temps are still around 89-95 , how much will this addition effect my temperatures, for those of you that have similar set up? If I get a 10 degree drop I'll be happy, I'm just dreading having to buy a 10,000 btu to add in there in addition to my 5, just to get things down to the 70's I know I may have to get an additional air conditioner, since I plan on adding at least a 600 watter, if not another 1000 to the flower area. The 6-800 watts of CFL's I have are fine for vegging for now.

Bump. 92 views and no 411 on how much sucking from within room through tube, and out into attic will drop the temp?

I do not use AC and have much lower temps. I wonder how much air flow you are getting.

Are you taking air out up high, and in down low?

I ran into the same issue after flipping in my 4x4x7 tent w/no a/c at the time. I had to buy an 18" oscillating fan and have it blowing it across the underside of the cool tube XL hood to move the hot pocket of air. I was running 86* w/o the fan, then 81* w/the fan. this coupled with the 8000btu a/c I now have venting into my tent intake, my temps are stable at 75* for 12 hrs, then 70* lights off. I have the a/c on a timer to come on and off with my lights.

So you have a cool tube and just ordered the cooling unit?....those tubes are made to run with a inline fan...filter optional...and for a 1000w bulb...at least a 400cfm....I run a 440 cfm inline and temp max at 82... Now that this heat wave is over...and maxed 86 then..no AC unit...the inline fan/filter combo will provide the circulation you lacked...

depending on your outside the tent temps...you'll get a 8-12' drop in temps...but how you thought that lil AC would cool a 1000w bulb in summer, is beyond me...

yeah, have not had the money for fan filter combo... So my plan is to put the filter w/ ducting through the light and into attic, near the roof, because it will allow for a more natural processof heat rising. Maybe stick the filter in the furthest corner away from the ac, so by the time air hits that spot, it will be hot anyways.

I found my video camera in a box of shit the other day, need an S/d card, and ill be in biz to show you guys what im talking about. Just got replacement ballast in mail and new bulb, so the HPS is back to putting in work. Should have my combo and more ratchet hangers in the mail in the next few days. I'll show before and afters, and possible placement spots.

The add on the one i bought says the fan is a "true 440 or 450 or something cfm". So it will be just like the one you got.

yeah it was a dumb move, the a/c... should have gotten a 10,000 especially because its in the garage, horrible heat, and Florida is hot as balls. but the 5 is better than nothing, and its what i could afford at the time. Ill need at least another 10,000 btu's anyways, because i want to add 1 or 2 more 1000 watters. I figure with 3 1000 watters, I'll be harvesting pounds even if im garbage hahahaha.

Florida up to 24 plants, is a 3rd degree. I was originally trying to stick to that, but since ive known people with well over 100 get busted and get probation only because well, the law is gay and should not even be there let alone jail time, It's making me relax a bit on sticking to certain numbers.
