Just picked up this 300w CFL ....

I just pick up this from home depot .. cost like 14.00



Do you guys thing this would work well for fill in light? Right now i have a 400w MH above 4 auto-flower 1 month old seedlings and 2 larger mother plants that will soon be moved to a flowering room.

The size of the area is 4x3x5 walls are made from pink board with a reflective side so the light moves around.

Im using a 400 MH i want to add them as EXTRA lights....

That's not a 300 actual watt cfl. It looks like 55 to 68 actual watts.

Either way, extra light is just that....extra.

If you need the extra light, you need the extra light.

Personally, I try to get a system dialed in with the least amount of lights, that way it's the least amount of hassle.

In the end, if you need it and can accommodate it, go for it.

I did a 400w hps in a 4x2 for a while, it was okay. Ended up bumping it up to a 600w in the same space. I would personally do a single 600w in a 4x3 as well, but bush the plants out more, which would make the plants shorter, giving me more height in the end. Now that I think about it, I would probably end up trying to do a 1000w in that 4x3 if I had good enough cooling.

I was looking at that first pic too like, that ain't 300 watts. I got a 125watt cfl it does seedlings just fine. What is maximum wattage they make for a CFL anyway? Anyone know? I can't imagine them being bigger than 300watts.

It doesn't say, and neither do you, what temp it is? 2700K? 3500? 5K? 6500K? You mos def need more light than that 400 and even this bulb. Like another 400 MH or a single 1000 watt.

Thinkin about growing the last 2 weeks and since it will be my first one I am looking at the lighting.

CFLs in th 100+ actual watt range are HUGE. A 300 watt CFL is about as big as a smaller football.

That is a 300 watt actual in comparison to a 300 watt equivalent (65 watt) CFL.

With 65s you should get a ton of them and split them and keep them close to the plan. 1 65 watt CFL would't be enough I don't think.

i used four on the outer area with my 600. not using em now, with the 1000. i to, got em a the same store. surroound on plant wiht em. it would do ok
