i've worn a pair of lace up shoes only three times in the past year. all three times were Dr's appointments (surgery, MRI, and a cat scan. i do office visits in slip-ons.). i do lace up my boots when i go to the dump but that doesn't really count. :blsmoke:

he-hey we have somthing in common I've only wore underwear 3 times this year, and thoes were for doctors appointments, coincidence?! I think not!!!!

but come on FDD you need to take the end of sex, pronography and RIU more seriously :P

Wow. Pot smokers are such a paranoid and influential bunch. What that hippie lady is talking about is net neutrality. Its been a hot debate for some time now. Basically:

"Network neutrality is the principle that Internet users should be in control of what content they view and what applications they use on the Internet. The Internet has operated according to this neutrality principle since its earliest days... Fundamentally, net neutrality is about equal access to the Internet. In our view, the broadband carriers should not be permitted to use their market power to discriminate against competing applications or content. Just as telephone companies are not permitted to tell consumers who they can call or what they can say, broadband carriers should not be allowed to use their market power to control activity online."

The big telecom companies want to be able to block access to certain sites, particularly those hosted by competition. This means Comcast users might be blocked if they try to visit a site on AT&T's network, and so forth. Also they want to be able to restrict what protocols can be used. This would mean an end to programs like Limewire and such.

They also want to charge for different levels of QoS (Quality of Service). So higher paying customers could view the exotic sites, and at faster rates. While the lower paying customers would be put on a lower priority on the network, with a limited access.

It is an issue that needs attention, but its not "the end of days" or the end of the internet. Someone probably gave this chick in the vid a half-ass explaination of net neutrality, then she hears the date 2012 and remembers her Mayan Calendar Mysteries video she watched while high one day. Now she is a YouTube prophet, like so many other wackos out there.

No internet in 2012? ahahaha that's where wireless / networking will start happening thus we wouldn't have to pay for the internet and still be able to share music , movies and such
