Ok so I just got a new quad last week and my roommate and I were riding around my property all day Sunday. It's worked fine since I got it but I went to get on it last night and it seems the ignition is locked up. Can't turn the key. Any ideas what might be causing this? Never had this problem before so I'm kind of at a stand still here. I did tip it Sunday but it wasn't a bad wreck or anything I wasn't going very fast and it continued to work the rest of the day. It's an 03 Yamaha warrior 350. Any help is appreciated. I'd hate to replace the ignition if I don't have to.

either your ignition is frozen or, the it is worn out and you need a new lock. does it have a kick starter?

My 04 Bruin does the same thing if it's not completely in neutral, the gears stick sometimes.

Haha I did try the steering wheel thing cause my work truck does it but no. I thought the neutral as well because the gears do stick sometimes. Pretty sure I've got it there but ill try again. Hard to tell for sure since nothing is lighting up.

Edit...tried it that's not the problem. Refer to post below.

Your neutral safety shouldn't keep you from turning the key.
If there was any chance at all that the guy you got it from had more than one or two keys on the keyfob, there's a good chance it is the cylinder, but before you go spending upwards of 70 bucks on a switch, I would go to a key shop/ locksmith.
NOT Lowe's or hardware store, and have them cut you a new key.

You used to be able to take the lock cylinder apart so no key is needed.Lots of times people jam a screwdriver and twist w/channelocks.
