I've done a lot of research and observation of whorled phyllotaxy and I suspect the reason whorled is more often male (seemingly based on online experiences) is because males have a higher concentration of auxins, and auxins play an essential role in phyllotaxy and plant structure in general (without it it would be a stick not a plant). It's most definitely not sex-linked however. And whorled doesn't necessarily mean higher chance of male, but male does seem to have higher chance of whorled. However, so far I have found more female than male whorled in the offspring of my whorled male. I've written a lot about it on a let's say a more serious forum (like my pic journal but with way more text), won't link it here but google for the obvious if you are interested in more details.

haha kaiju is the japanese term for those giant monsters like godzilla and mothra too so i thought it was just a good fit.

That's actually not the one I meant though, not very active there, I meant 1 search result lower in google, "breeding for whorls". It's the primary trait I'm selecting on. Trying to get 6 whorled for my next flowering round. I have no expectations of being able to breed it true, but trying anyway, or at least up to a point where there's a high ratio of whorlers. The sparkly seedlings you referred to on my profile page are all offspring from the same quad-whorled male (most branches where tri-whorled actually).You're most welcome, thank you for sharing your work in a thread here. yes i beleive i have pics of them on page 1, when inbreeding you have to use related plants like bro to sis or half bro tp half sis ormom to son otherwise any outcrossing would bring in new genes and recombinations that i would have to start the work over on stabalizing for and with the goal of kaiju ultimately being stabalization (to use as a skeleton strain to cross superior cuts into)that was the option that best suited my goals
