The cycle time over the 5' run for my 8' garden is about 6 minutes, including a 60 second pause at each end.

The speed of the motor is preset, but you can buy a 1-10 rpm or 1-6 rpm motor. The pause at the end of the motor's travel can be adjusted to between 0 and 60 seconds.

Hoping they are on the sativa side? Dood, KM is the sativa queen!! Stand by for a good 100 days or more of flowering but the wait is worth it. I have to say that my KM is probably some of the best smoke I have ever had!! I should have my journal w/pics still in here - search for it and you'll see what i mean.

I'm compiling my Tincture thread into a chapter for Weed Science, I'm only going to post my recipe for sublingual tincture as the original thread is as long as this one and Weed Science is currently over 500 pages. The entire tincture thread will be organized with a linked index in the ebook but it will be a week before it is completely uploaded.

Tincture is an almost mystical creature, time consuming to make, the potency hit and miss, and the taste vile. This procedure will give you the most potent tincture that can be made with the bud that you have. The best tasting tincture, the most highs from the tincture. The fastest.

A tincture expert might still produce more potent tincture with their own bud or through more skilled curing with your bud - but - this method will give you the most potent that you can make because we are going to separate the tincture process into two simple parts: Extraction & Solution . By extracting the maximum resin possible then separating the resin/trichs from the solvent we know exactly how much resin we have and there are no water soluble solutes. We add only the amount of solvent (oil, glycerine, alcohol, etc) that we want to get the number of doses that we know the resin can provide (only experience can tell you this, start with as little solvent as will hold the resin in solution).

Extracting the trichomes can be done through: hash making (I have a portable washing machine and bubble bags; subcritical fluid extraction (butane honey oil and CO2 extraction); Iso; alcohol . Each of these extraction methods will be covered in the ebook, if there is one that anyone would like to go over in this thread please post. They are all very simple but most require safety procedures because of explosive gas and toxic fumes. Making good ice water hash is an excellent high purity and safe method of separating the trichomes from most of the plant matter and washing out the water soluble and foul tasting chlorophyl and terpins.

My favourite solvent is grape seed oil - fast, easy, great results. Grape seed oil has a very light taste, when mixed with high proof alcohol and sprayed under the tongue some of it will be absorbed by the blood vessels.

Because the connective tissue beneath the epithelium contains a profusion of capillaries, the substance then diffuses into them and enters the venous circulation. In contrast, substances absorbed in the intestines are subject to "first pass metabolism" in the liver before entering the general circulation.

Sublingual administration has certain advantages over oral administration. Being more direct, it is often faster, and it ensures that the substance will risk degradation only by salivary enzymes before entering the bloodstream, whereas orally administered drugs must survive passage through the hostile environment of the gastrointestinal tract, which risks degrading them, either by stomach acid or bile, or by the many enzymes therein, such as monoamine oxidase (MAO). Furthermore, after absorption from the gastrointestinal tract, such drugs must pass to the liver, where they may be extensively altered; this is known as the first pass effect of drug metabolism."

"what's the most efficient {extraction} method with grape seed oil {tincture}?"

Kief from your grinder or from hash making, an alcohol extraction, Isopropyl alcohol rinse, a subcritical fluid extraction with butane or with CO2. Any safe method that you are comfortable doing - that gives you a high purity resin - is great. Then mix hot grape seed oil into the resin.

Heat the extract in it's pyrex extraction tray in the oven - AFTER THE BUTANE IS BOILED OFF OUTDOORS - 250F in the oven is good. Warm water to boil off the butane works well outdoors even on the coldest winter day.

Add grape seed oil - I used 2 teaspoons (10 ml), I'll try 5 ml next time. Glycerine can be used instead of oil to make an excellent one part tincture.

Honey oil from 28 grams of baked trim.

I tip the pan back and forth to spread the oil, then let it sit in the oven at 250 F for 5 minutes.

Take the pyrex tray out of the oven and use a fork to mix grape seed oil and honey oil. A couple of minutes will completely dissolve the resin.

Tip the Pyrex tray on a side and squeegee the base to get all of the oil and resin. I use a plastic card.

Use a spoon to scoop the oil, pour the oil into your spay bottle.

I bent a spoon with plyers - to have a spout on both sides - to use as a ladle.

Use the highest proof alcohol available. If you cannot get Everclear or an equivalent you can distil your own alcohol in your kitchen with a simple crock pot or french press distiller. You can also use the same apparatus as an alcohol reflux extractor for resin.

This flame is from a teaspoon of refined vodka, the first alcohol I distilled. It was amazing to watch it burn. That distillation experiments was one of my simplest but the most fun and exciting at the same time. It was one of the first that I measured results and had both defined goals and a road map. Alcohol will only burn when its percentage in a solution with water is greater than 50% - or 100 proof that the rum isn't watered down.

I use a Chloraseptic soar throat spray bottle, I like the extended nozzle to get each spray exactly where I want it.

After mixing the alcohol quickly comes out of solution.

Before shaking again I like to unscrew the top and spray out anything that is in the tube, the alcohol and oil will column in the tube as well. Last spring I was wondering how I could keep the oil mixed up in the spray inlet tube when it dawned on me how easy it is to build an oil skimmer to make money from oil spills. Gotta love weed science >>> I built a model using a toy power boat and a plastic funnel that I bent with a my soldering gun (which I also use for topical operations) and floated with styrofoam packaging. And a clear plastic tennis ball case as the separation column and clear hydro tubing to feed the skimmed oil from the funnel into the tennis ball tube. The model worked perfect, of course they stopped the leak before I got my Universal Pipe Clogger designed on SketchUp so I said "Screw it, I'm doing something else."

The effects of this tincture are rapid, a couple of minutes. The influence of a set of sprays doesn't last long, 10 - 15 minutes for me, but the cumulative effect of repeated spray sets produces experiences of both longer duration and more complex sensations. It's a nice way to titrate the cannaboids to control effects while being fast acting and giving my throat a break from the irritating vaporizer mist. Very heady, much more powerful than a couple of Volcano bowls, very rapid onset. The effects are much more in the head than that from cannaboids ingested through the gastrointestinal tract.

For surfers or people who spend time on the ocean - taking a sublingual hit is like standing between swells: at first it's calm and nothing is happening, then the force of the next wave comes in and the water starts to rise, lifting you, and finally crashing over you. You take the spray under the tongue, a slight stinging to which you build immunity. Then nothing. A warm fuzzy feeling in the head and ... whoosh ... the wave hits you intensely, you tumble, its fun and peaceful. One of the nicest highs I've had, very powerful and clean.

With a little practice this recipe is easily made, I can go from plant to tincture in half an hour. The canna-grape seed oil can be used to make brownies from trim in an hour. You can make this to knock yourself out the first time, there is no more potent way to make tincture. No tastier way, no quicker way, no more economical way, no method as sure of producing success first time every time.

Plant to Tincture in 30 Minutes

Without harvesting the plant.

- Preheat convection oven to 300 F
- Trim leaves
- clip leaves into tiny pieces

3:00

- Bake leaves in a thin layer in a convection oven, on screens for air flow

10:00

- Pour the leaves into a mesh kitchen strainer with a bowl below the strainer
- crumble the leaves through the strainer into the bowl, hand or piece of wood
- pour the ground baked leaves onto a pre-cooled cookie sheet, thin layer
- put in freezer

12:00

- cool, improves yield

15:00

- Load pre-cooled extraction tube
- extract
- boil off butane (skip for CO2) in hot hot water

25:00

- Put the extraction tray and honey oil in an oven pre-heated to 300 F
- Use a laser thermometer and remove when it is 200 F
- Pour in Grape Seed Oil preheated to 300 F
- Stir with fork until the resin is completely dissolved.

29:45

- spray with CO2 to cool to 98.6 F

I've never had Spider Mites but people have mentioned that installing an air floor has helped to clear up mites. I believe that there are benefits from both keeping the buckets off the ground and from pumping fresh air through the canopy to reduce humidity. Here are two great threads I've read about them:

IDENTIFY: The spider mite is the most common pest found on indorr marijuana plantsand causes the most problems. To a newbies, they are hard to spot, spider mites have eight legs. Find microsopic spider mites on the bottom of the leaves. However, their telltale signs of feeding, yellowish white spots, on the tops of leaves are easy to see. Careful inspection reveals tiny spider webs on stems and under leaves as the infection progess’s. A maginifying glass will help you see the yellow white two spotted, brown or red mites and their clear eggs. Indoors the most common is the two spotted spider mite. After the they fuck like rabbits females are fertilized for life and reproduce 80% female and 20% male eggs, females will lay about 100 eggs. (poor bitch)

Damage: Spider mites suck life giving sap from marijuana plantscausing over loss and stunting of growth. Leaves are poked with suck hole marks in yellow from failed to produce chloraphyl. The marijuana plant will loose partial to full function (which means your marijuana plantsare fucked) Leaf yellowing and drop. Once a plant is overrun with spider mites the infestation pregresses rapidly.

In simple words if you get mites and don’t catch them you are screwed.



How to control Spider Mites: Be clean. This is the most important first step to spider minte control. Keep the grow room tools spotless and dis-infect your tools. Mother marijuana plantsoften have spider mites, Spray mothers often with miticide’s including once three days before cuttins. Once you become infested the entire grow room will have to be stripped down and clean.

One of the reasons that I'm doing the video is to develop methods of non verbal communication for working in areas that people don't speak English, I'd like to be able to tell the CCOB story without text, it may take longer to develop Only In Dreams into a usable tool but the process will help me with other areas of my project.

This is version 6, it's starting to come together into a story. I'll work on frame transition and image placement but there are so many images, 240 in 7m 59s, that I want to do less - only add effect to enhance the story. Feedback is appreciated!

This slideshow illustrates the Crop Circle of Bud system at different stages, from clone cuttings through harvest and on to tincture. I made the video as a primer for growers new to Crop Circle Of Bud theory, so you can have visual anchors if you want to learn the concepts behind our methods. Weed Science (ebook link below) is already over 700 pages of theory and pictorials and I've only complied a fraction of my research and experiments on RollItUp, and that is only a fraction of what is yet to be done. I wanted to offer an introduction that all new growers can experience in a few minutes while relaxing with their vaporizer, even if they're not interested in growing CCOB. Sit back and enjoy.

Only In Dreams: Surf the Crop Circle Of Bud is the animated companion version of Weed Science, the picture sequences follow the how-to pictorials in the ebook. There are 242 images in 8 minutes with very few repeats. I searched for places that I could weave in ideas, stories and themes from TV shows, movies, books, painting, sculpture, pop culture, comic books and my eternal hatred of Stephen CoBerT. Some images that you might notice:

- I created a sand worm scene from Dune during the trichome sequence - from a close up bud picture with only picture zoom, rotation and movement.
- "For everything Else there's Mastercard. Priceless!" with Jack The Ripper
- Phillip Abootman's incessant demands that President Obama nuke the NBA (CoBerT Free World)
- Mouth Of Madness (Bill Maher)
- Alien (Green Eye lit bud)
- building a heart for valentines
- Crystalline Entity, Star Trek (the blue flame from a spoon of the alcohol from my first distillation warping through black space, between the vaporizer and sublingual tincture sequences)
- Chronicles Of Riddick - the sublingual tincture spray bottle blur movements where modeled on the Lord Marshals ability to be in two places at the same time (more or less)
- I made several changes from Saladman's advice in post #463. In the root pruning bucket sequence he suggested adding a picture with two buckets side by side, to impress upon the viewer the two bucket system. I acknowledged his help by switching a red shorty Coke can for a larger blue Pepsi can, then back to the red Coke (in the same position) as the previous two pictures. The three pictures were taken a year apart, I found the same hole bucket (unique hand drilled hole patterns shown if the video is paused) and my rectangular black caliper case (coke can sitting on) and placed both on similar angles. He also advised on showing more of the cage near the first of the video, because of this I did my first zoom frames and sequences. Thanks Saladman, your help made the context of the scenes easier to understand and brought life to the video! You're also included in my limit of 20 tags for the video.
- Most of the plant transitions through flowering maturity are the same plants, the Lazarus sequence immediately following the {air floor / Volcano} series are my first Jillybeans from seed. The first is just after LST training for CCOB, the plants look wilted and come back to life and ripen in following pictures.
- The last transition from the whitish Strawberry Diesel at the end of flower into the Hobbes Icon - the 7 series of pictures before are the same sativa pheno at different stages of flower. It's stems collapsed under the weight of it's colas and had that fantastic picture at the end - I only rotated slightly and "framed" (see next post) the picture for transition, no effects.

Weed Science

Much in life doesn't make sense to me, like a dance who's steps I can memorize but the purpose seems to be to dance as fast as one can. My mind freezes on the WHY people work the way they do and I don't achieve the results that I intend. Marijuana gardening has been the first thing in my life that has been entirely under my control, including my mind. The simple logic of physics and biology are sometimes head bangingly frustrating, but they are always simple and logical, and once deciphered pedestrian.

Not only the produce, but the procedure of my garden has given me control of my mind and a slowly increasing influence of the world around me - yet I'm completely bewildered at the simplest motivation of another human being. The moderators on RUI have never been anything but the most kind to me, civil and helpful in every way - denying no reasonable request while asking nothing in return. If there is a hippie on RUI it is me - I want something from you, not the moderators, and I have not been able to find out how to provide you with fair trade without asking directly.

For those who've been following the thread for sometime, (Saladman, Shortbus, J.Cun, Mae, and too many others to mention) you may have noticed that I don't ask for help easily, I'm asking now. Everything in this thread has been given freely with no obligation of remuneration, I am humbly asking for your help:

1. Watch Hobbes 11:9 (Adajio For Strings). If the video evokes an emotional response please post and tell me about it - good or bad. If you're offended by some parts that is important for me to know as well - the video is a work in progress, intended first for you and later for the larger community.
