yeah mass, from all my reading on it, that is the purpose of the molasses, so you dont have to use the cal/mag product. you can always try to sell it on ebay, i just got an almost full thing of FF cha ching for $20 shipped, hell of a lot cheaper than what it goes for anywhere.

mass u prolly wont need the sweet i have had it for a while and it just sits around.
My hydro guy told me I wouldn't need sweet since I was using the Black Magic but then he sold me cal-mag and he knew I was also using molasses. Seems like he should have known I didn't need it since he knew I was using molasses but i'm sure he was just trying to sale something probabaly. Do you use something in place of the sweet?

I'm probably stuck with the bottle. It only cost $17 new. My thoughts were to start alternating between Cal-Mag and molasses every watering now. Use molasses this time, calmag next time and switch back and fourth between the 2. They aren't identical in their make-up I'm sure so maybe this way my girls can benefit from all that both these products offer. Any thoughts or feedback on that idea?

I never really looked into the make-up of molasses till I asked you yesterday CD. I thought the purpose of the molasses was just to give the plants a rush of sugars and carbs but I'm learning now that it supplies the needed cal, mag, and iron. Is this correct? So the molasses substitutes both products like Sweet and Cal-Mag? I know that on top of the sugars that Sweet provides it also has needed L-amino acids. My hydro store guy told me that the Black Magic had those L-aminos in it and that I'm giving it the sugar it needs through the molasses so that eliminated the need for Sweet but that really bothers me that he sold me calmag when I'm sure hes got to know that molasses has Ca, Mg, and Fe in it! At least it was only $17!

Hey CD, have you or anyone else read any of "riddleme's" stuff on "making it rain" and if so do you practice it currently?

ha, yeah, just checked that out today. i water my plants everyday, whether its straight water, nute water, or the molasses mix on wednesdays. i water till i see a little run off coming out of the bottom of the pot. thats the way i've done all 4 of my grows.

yes, which isnt really that much, only about a quart for both girls, but they seem to love it. these are only 2 gallon pots, i was gonna put them in the 4 gallon pots but space didnt let me do that, so they drink up everyday. the soil dries up pretty fast.

Everyday ? You must have a good prventative maintence schedule . That would cause powdery mildew and fungus gnat factory for me.

Riddlemes "make it rain " technique is a flush every other feed . He does allow proper drying time in between . And yes it does work once you get your plants pot drying time figured out they really take off after making it rain .

I've got four 5 gallon pots and one 3 gallon pot so it would be unrealistic for me to buy tons of RO water to rain on them with. He said he uses tap water through a Brita filter. Well I don't have loot to spend on a filter right now. I always water with pure water throughout the grow to prevent buildups but it sounds like hes talking about sending very large amounts of water through while "making it rain". I aint buying that much water. I'm intrigued by the technique though.
