Hey guys, this is my first grow with a HPS. Heating issues aside, how far away would you typically place the light from the plants? My tent is 54in tall, housing/reflector for the air cooled light takes up about a 14in from the top, and my pots are 6in tall, which leaves 34in from top of pots to light....my usable grow space. I wanted to grow my plants to about 30in. If my plants are 4in away from the light for part of flowering, will it be too close without tying my plants down or over? Would anyone recommend a general guideline of maximum safe distance from my light to my plants? Im worried about burning buds later on.

Thanks Beasly, my light is currently 15in above my plants and they are thriving, I just want to make sure if I should have it any closer than that. Thanks for your help!

Day 13 Veg- Plants are getting bushy really fast with big thick stalks. I just added a small fan yesterday which they seem to like, and I added an Exhale Co2 bag on day 9 of veg, which they also seem to like a lot. I turned the plants 180 deg. today.

Thanks Transcendence, I appreciat the look! I am also going to start som ak-48 in a few weeks. I have 5 seeds left from my last grow. I was just really curious how the Kaya would do indoors and it looks great! Thanks for stopping by!

Day 1 flower, switched to 12/12 yesterday. Im starting flowering a bit early, plants are 8-9 in tall, due to my space requirements. Gave each plant 1c rainwater ph to 6.0 with week 1 flowering nutes. Turned plants. I cut 5 clones yesterday and included 2 pics. I also gave Magic Green Foliar spray today after the lights went off.

Day 15 Flower...gave the 3 largest plants 2 cups water each with week 2 flowering nutes. Sprayed all plants with seltzer water for additional co2. I am already seeing flowers on 2 of my plants. 2 plants are a little slower in developing but are looking good. 1 plant looks like shit, and I my pull it out of my tent and move outdoors.

Water-these plants need way more water than Nirvana advertises in their description, at least indoors. I watered on a Thursday, and by Saturday, one of my big plants was completely limp. It bounced back very nicely but I am going to have to be more careful going forward.

Thanks Transcendence, I appreciate the look and the info. I keep a daily journal of what I am doing, but I dont post everything on here. I think that would be TMI for the forum, but you are right. I document everything that I do to the plants and clones. By the way, your screen name is really hard to type when I am baked! Did you do that on purpose? Lol.

Here are some pics of my biggest and prettiest plant. Tons of bud sites. Plant is 14in tall. 3 of my plants are about this size but this one is the most mature. :leaf:
