Keep it Simple

If you want to grow herb in an Aerogarden then keep it simple. Just follow the Aerogarden instructions as you would for any other plant. Germinate the seeds inside the pods rather than germinating in water or wet towels. This saves needless steps. Start out by the window with an oscillating fan to strength the stalks.

When your plants grow high enough to first raise the lights, put them in a foil lined closet. As your plants grow, it's important to follow the Aerogarden instructions and prune, prune, prune. The herb will defiantly grow back as fast as you cut it. If some plants grow higher than others then top them off and keep all plants the same height. So rather than buy extra lights, simply expose more parts of the plant to the Aerogarden's limited lighting, and all the pruning will result in more fractal, complex branching with more places for buds to grow.

As for nutrition, start with none for the first two weeks, then one small tablet a week, then one big tablet a week, then two. Use your own judgment. Look at your plants and make a decision. The Aerogarden manual will be a big help with that.

And that's all folks!

SPAMOLA 4 sure

No, no, no. I have no interest in selling Aerogardens. It's just that it was such a chore for me going through all the convoluted Aerogarden instructions in the threads and trying to fathom all the extra shopping trips I'd need to make before I was finally ready to grow marijuana. I only want enough for personal use and pruning is the best way to get the most bang for your buck if you don't want to buy extra lights. It's no different from any other plant and doesn't need any extra special treatment.

Oh, and by the way, I'm growing three very healthy white widows and one purp which I will put in a flowering cycle in the next week or two. I ordered my seeds from BCSeedKing and almost all my seeds failed to germinate. I'm a first time grower, so I'm still experimenting. It wasn't until I simply put seeds in the pods that I started having any success.

Anyway, does anyone have an opinion about BCSeedKing? They definitely send you your seeds fast and the last thing I want to do is order from overseas and sit on the edge of my seat for a month wondering whether or not my seeds will ever arrive.

I made an order , sent them stright cash , recived my seeds and they did free express shipping. I am germinating my seeds as we type , they all look healthy. If your seedlings keep dieing maybe you should start with soil

So are you saying that you really and truly don't like Aerogardens and you're not just saying that to impress your wife who's causing you to experience greater satisfaction in life right now?

I never said that. I my self wouldn't just jump right into doing aerogardens for my very first grow since I have no experince growing. Once I have some experince I will be getting into the diffrent types of hydroponics for growing starting from what I think would be the easiest for learning then try the next level up. I do plan on doing an aerogarden just when I have some grows under my belt:leaf:

Sounds complicated. If you're just growing for personal use, why not just keep it simple? That's the real beauty of the Aerogarden. If you have no experence, that's where you should start rather than face the complexities of hydroponics.

I'm starting my first grow in soil since it would proibly be easer for me.

isn't hydro the same as DWC/Bubbletonics , Flood and drain , drip feed , aerogarden and such?

I see your point because there can be complications with aerogardens. One in particular is that the bigger your gorgeous plants grow the more you need to make sure the pump stays running. Because roots will grow in there and shut it down. I have a friend who lost his magnificent white widow that way. It was as healthy as could be then suddenly died. Why? The roots grew into the pump. I attended the funeral of my purp yesterday. I still have three white widows left and cut out all the roots around the pump to get it going again. Hopefully, now, health will be restored to the once-vibrant leaves of my three white widows. This was the plant which won the 1995 Cannabis Award and I'd like to take it all the way through flowering. It is truly an amazing plant. Hardy enough to withstand less-than-perfect aerogarden growing conditions and in the end give you an amazing cerebral high.

Actually, this isn't my very first grow. My first grow was in the woods. Problem is that rabbits, like all sentient creatures, love marijuana. Put chicken wire around your plants if you want them to survive.
