do you guys just pull branches down if one is sticking a good bit higher than other branches or just let it stick up and potentially be too hot?

start your plants right by topping them early and often. Stop topping 7 to 10 days before the switch to 12 12. Use a trellis to support your branches. If you didn't train your plant properly, it's always a good idea to bend or tie down branches for the sake of an even canopy.

always try starting out with even sized cutting & running the same strains helps a lot. Most people use a technique called SCROG. You can also super crop them by pinching them sideways.

kbo ca said it good... I always train mine from the time they r just past seedlings thru their veg lives, especially early, because I like to supercrop and get massive bushes and be able to control my height and at the same time, increase my yield... Itz all about doin' the most you can, with what you have to work with, and gettin' back the best results possible...
