Keeping it warm in winter

Looking to start one or two Cheese auto fem seeds in a dresser cab I'm my garage, in addition to the dwc I have running inside.

Will keep it in my garage and close to the house but trying to think of ways to keep it warm.

Was going to use cfl but now thinkingredients if I can find a cheap hps I could use it to help drive up the temp.

Thinking it would be dangerous to put a space heater of any size in the cab, maybe not ifor he heater is safe to self shut off at certain points.

Thoughts?

What are your dimensions for your cab? What are your plans for ventilation? What is the climate like where you live? I would think that any hps worth its salt would be too much for a cab grow, in most applications, anyway. You could run an led light appropriate for your size space. That'll add more heat than a CFL, but less than HPS. As far as ventilation goes, you could exhaust to the garage but have a passive intake coming from inside your house possibly? It really depends on your temperature ranges.

It will be easier to keep autos warm because you can run the light 24 hours a day. An adjustable fan would make it easy to keep airflow low and not exchange all your heat outside the grow area. If your airflow is to low you may have issues with mold or low co2. Use internal fans to push hot air down to the bottom and possibly a foam board to insulate the roots from the cold floor. Supplement co2 with diy yeast generators if you run into slow growth caused by low airflow. Waterproof heat mats help out as well if the roots get cold.

The less efficient the light the more heat it can generate. I would go for a mix of cfl and led screw-in bulbs. Cfl for heat and a little light and led for directional light intensity. Using multiple sockets you could easily change how many watts you are running and dial it in.
