Keeping my grow room warm

I doubt the cfl's are going to raise the temp almost 20 degrees unless you dont use an exhaust fan.

you could use a 250 watt cfl with reflector in that space and i would say it would raise the temperature in that space a fair bit, maybe push it up to 65-70 F?

thanks ill look into that, if i kept the place airtight would it maintain a good temperature though u think? or what if i space heated it for like an hour a day to get it up to 80 degrees or so then left it closed..maybe it could maintain 70+ degrees for maybe 12-24 hrs?

Cfl's wouldnt heat it up that much i dont think- even my son-t green power hps wont belt out enough heat to combat the chill of the inlet fan so i just bought an economic oil heater that sits in tent- i bought it cos it was -3 C outside ( uk) so my girls in garage were suffering and turning purple so its put temp up to 16 C (62F) The inlet fan is going all the time as with the outlet pulling the hot air out so if you run it that way as well ( or at very least the oscillating fan- i doubt very much that your temps will stay at a warm constant as you were hoping for when your lights are off?

Yep i know but its still the same principle of not alowing low temps to set in to stunt growth, my point was merely that the cfl's wouldnt heat it up that much but even if they did the dark time isnt going to keep the heat in imho- but i could be wrong im no expert just quoting my experiences.

that sounds right enough for 12/12 Jaaason :leaf: how you going to veg? another area?
this is my first time..so correct me if it wouldn't work but i was going to veg there also, for circulation could i have a airtight place and open it maybe twice a day to heat it up and that would provide enough airflow for the plants? thanks for showing interest by the way
