Keeping plant in veg for really long time?

I was wondering if i keep a plant in veg state for like a year or two and let it become a monster then moved it outside at the beginning of the grow season would it produce a shit ton of bud or would it die?

It's completey possible for me to do this because I own a 50,000 sq. ft building with all metel halide lighting and a 6 1000 watt HPS.
Imagine the shear amount of bud i could grow in a building like that. I could have a true sea of green.

Theoretically its possible. Not sure that many people are willing to invest that much time in vegging the plant.

you can definately do it. a lot of people keep clone mothers alive for five years or more. whether or not it's really worth it is another question. thats a long time to wait for a harvest. why not just grow a few plants at a time and put them outside for harvest each year. also, a sativa can get way too tall for most people to fit inside if you veg it a long time. if you have high cielings, which it sounds like you do, it might not be an issue. but once you get it outside and it shoots up at the beginning of flowering, its a lot harder to keep a 20 foot plant from being seen outdoors than a five or six footer. it would definately be a lot of fun to grow a monster like that though.

I have kept the same mothers for over a year, but you will have problems. First of all, the plant will not continue to grow like the magic beans that Jack planted. The plant will grow only so tall and then it will stall. Genetics control this, not you or lighting.
As time goes on when you take clones (we took 20-30 per plant when they were ready (2-3 weeks) put them in veg. for 3 weeks & flowered them, Sea of Green.
The clones will become more and more sickly as time goes on and the mother will eventually become infected with a virus & die.:spew: Then you start over with seed & start getting hardy clones again w/ a high yield.
Keeping a plant in vegatative stage for a year is very stupid, you will only waste electricity, especially in the summer when outdoor yield is 3 - 4 times what it is indoors.

Rocky,
So after you take your first bunch of clones from your mother how long does it take to regrow , and how many times can you use her before she gets sick and dies?
Thanks

I have found that anything longer than a year should be restarted. You can actually start a new mother off of the same plant, but the vigor will wane.Start a newmother from seed and the renewed vigor is astounding: higher yield, faster & resists those pesky spider mites the same way I resist coke whores.
These bits of wisdom comes not only from myself, but also my professor - I was a horticulture major & that is how many plants are propagated; take cuttings, put them in the spray-mister & you have a new plant. Anybody that owns a greenhouse will tell you what I just did.
The mother will be ready again for clones in 2 weeks to 3, to??? You will look & tell...we took clones every week, so we had a payday every week, there were 15 to 20 mothers & we just looked for the one that was ready that week.
You can take hundreds of clones off one mother...just like a human, look at a woman that has had 10 kids...they wear out!
