Keeping snake in growroom

Hey, so I just got my half-basement grow set up and running. Also I am getting a python pretty soon as well. It'll grow to around 12 feet, so I'm wondering if I just keep it in my grow room which is completely sealed off and locked, it should work well as a habitat, the temperature is right since you need high 20's C to keep the snake well. But I'm curious if it could be bad for the plants somehow.. I'm not sure how, but I dont want my python ruining a crop or even a few plants if i can help it. The alternative is to build it's cage in the growroom, so it's not running loose around my plants, but I like the idea of a 12 foot python chilling with my plants, could give rise to some new strains who knows? (White Python, etc)

i'm figuring that it will produce CO2 for my plants at least? But yea, It would be too much a hassle to not get attacked every time i wanna water and check up on the plants. oh well =/
