I use irish spring ;) Usually shave off some pieces around the area and hang a bar or 2 a few feet up in the air. Axe body spray and that should work just the same. Not sure how long the spray scent will last for.

Pissing has never worked. When bucks are in rut and making scrapes on the ground, I will purposely piss in them. Just gets the buck to come back more often to see who's messing around in there territory.

I had a problem with bunnies @ one point as well. Just rub some of the irish spring on the lower stalk/stem. Don't think they like the smell/taste.


I also gave up on using Blood/Bone meal. Skunks, coons and who knows what else would dig the plants right out of the ground for it.

Come spring take and tie fishing line across their trails from ground up to about 4 feet tall every 6 inches.
This will spook them and keep them away for awhile.

Deer are normally only interested early spring until other forage grows in.
Moth balls and whole bars of soap work good to.

Any one technique only works for so long switch it up.

Most predator scents work for a while, make sure if that is what you pick you pick 3 variations and rotate. It works great, but it's a PITA, I had to swap them about once a week or the deer would start to come in. I would recommend hair from dogs and hair from male humans. Liquids don't last like they do. Just put them in a mesh bag or the nylon socks you can get for free from the shoe store.

I got to take a break from that due to my luck with the Sweeney stakes last year though. I don't trust that everyone will have that luck or even that I will be that lucky next year, but it worked this year so you know damn sure what I'm trying first next year.

could also maybe try supplementing food source. a $7.00 bag of corn somewhere away from plants. keep em fed maybe they won't feel like messing with your plants.that and the repellent.

gonna second abes post. i've seen deer bash themselves against a 10' fence trying to get off the highway. eventually they got over that monster fence! the chances of them messing with a chicken fence is low and i've used it.

For the most part you are right deer are lazy they use my hunting trails I cut.
Watch some hunting shows, they build food plots where cattle are and fence around it 6 ft high to keep cows out.
Deer can leap 6-8 ft with ease. I've seen it myself when hunting fields.
That and I don't have the option for fence when guerrilla growing.
