Plants don't NEED nutrients to grow. They do a hell of a lot better with nutrients, but they won't die without them as they would without light or water.forum account doesnt know what hes talking about. Plants need nutrients thats what they use to grow. sun, water, nutrients.
and pruning is totally unnecessary. you can do things like topping, suppercropping, lst'ing to keep small and make more colas but pruning does not help the plant grow faster.
the main things to ensure a healthy plant are sunlight, water, and nutrients. the nutrients dont have to be supplied by liquid fertilizers however. they are naturally found in the soil and can be added by amending the soil.
Also, I never said pruning will make a plant grow faster. Pruning to me, and everyone else I know, simply means to remove certain leaves as soon as they're no longer needed in order to open up pathways for light to enter the centres of the plant. Exposing every bud and bud-leaf to the light is going to make a huge difference in your yield. I don't know where you get off saying that pruning is totally unnecessary. People who don't prune once a week are going to end up with a huge shit mess of a bush that consists of 70% leaf and 30% bud by harvest time. And those buds are going to be popcorn nugs, except for your 3, 4, or 5 colas.
I don't know what your methods of growing are, but up here in BC, people would laugh at your if you're not pulling at least 2 pounds per light (a 1000w hps)
Oh and btw I'd go for the Liquid KoolBloom up to week 4, then switch over to Powder KoolBloom for week 5 until harvest.
