Kieth Emerson RIP

Saw them on their Brain Salad Surgery Tour (mid 70's) at the San Francisco Civic Auditorium, one of the best acoustical venues in the state at the time. They have a true quad PA system. Keith Emerson's mini moog that shot fire balls toward the audience exploded in his hands. They had to take him off stage and bandaged him up. He came back out and didn't miss a note! That band was amazing and their stage show was beyond any other band at the time. A hit of Orange Sunshine kept me on the edge of my seat the entire show. I was speechless after the show. Definitely in the top 3 shows I've ever seen, if not the best. Show them again in the 90's at the Concord Pavillion; again an outstanding show but not like the Show in the 70's.

This song has been running through my head for a few weeks.
I remember hearing it on the radio, getting high in the 70s-80s.

I wore that 8 track tape out (Triology). I've always been a hardcore fan of ELP. Actually got some albums of "Nice", the band K. Emerson was in before ELP. Never seen a better keybord/synthesizer player. Rick Wakeman (Yes) was top notch but didn't have nothing on K. Emerson.

I liked the above post about the quad system much less 8-tracks.
I still have a quad stereo system with a quad 8 track player and wore out or repaired many of those cartridges. Never had a 4 channel ELP tape though.
Not sure if I saw ELP at philla or hershey in the early 80's but it was a cool show.

Roger Waters had a quad set up that was pretty cool.
I think Another brick in the wall starts with the helicopter.
People were looking in the sky thinking a heli was going to land in the audience.
