know any good hotels in Amesterdam?

thinking bout makin a trip sometime in the early part of 2010. . . anyone know any good hotels that a lot of Americans stay at? I dont speak Dutch but Im gona try to learn at least a couple of phrases before I get there. thanks for the help!

From what I hear you would do better to stay at a hostel.

Everyone there speaks English. i stayed at a place called the Arena Hotel, it was cheap back then but I understand it's gone upscale lately.
