koi fish pond water

Hello there,

I have an outdoor koi fish pond, how can I use the water is my question.

Can I use it on the cannabis plants without added nutrients or ph down? Or regular plants or vegetables? Growing in coco or hydroponically.

Pond is about 8m x 2m x 1.5m so it is about 24000L or 6300gal

Have about 20-30 fishes mid to large size

water looks 70-90% clear, Ph is about 8.5 and PPM 15 (in winter haven't tested it in summer yet)

Have some plants and they all look very healthy in summer and grow fast and strong.

Will test it soon to see how it goes but was wondering if anyone had any actual experience.

Thank you.

I would use it as your feed water, adjust as needed to achieve correct EC and PH and it should be excellent

Most of the time koi pond water shouldn't be used because you can introduce deadly pathogens that are present in the water with ponds that don't have enough filtration or agitation in the water. You an also introduce algae which will grow like mad all over your media and reservoirs. If your pond gets a lot of algae in it during the year it most likely has dead spots where no current travels in the pond which makes bad water.
