Girls are looking good KC. How long into flower will you train Leader and how many heads do you plan (may have missed this bit in an earlier post)?
You bet ... . Tried to say I had a hunch from the beginning on this one. Seems to be doing great even though I can see the stem is not fully attached at the armsIs that Moh on the left? Sheesh I shoulda been paying more attention to her! She is gonna be very nice.
Thanks EC and Soup, those huge beasts on Mrs. O are my indicator leaves, you can see that dark rich green subsiding a bit from previous pictures, so the CaMg and taper of N is doing it`s thing . Good seein` ya ECWas just about to say the same thing Soup, there is some super fat leaves in there
Well you`ve found right Soup. Basically the Silica is for helping the plant through extreme conditions (i.e. the Mainlining, high temperatures, etc.) and I like to use it usually from final container transplant (pre-flower), right through to week 5-6 depending on strain, but never at it`s recommended dosage either (1.25ml/gallon - teaspoon). I run it until I supplement the Sweet, I never like to have too many additives in my soil at one time. Never noticed a taste difference, probably because I use the Sweet after discontinuing the SB, gives the plants natural oils time to flourish before flushing I`d assume. Thanks for stopping in Soup, feel free to ask away if something isn`t clicking for yaSorry I missed this earlier bro, but do you run your silica straight thru to harvest??? Ive always found its good to start cutting it out a couple weeks before the flush and usually start to taper as early as week 3 of flower. Some say it gives a strange taste on even well cured erb and I find it slightly changes my buds growth structure if taken even the slightest bit over the line too close to harvest. Just my .02 and I respect your opinion which is why I ask. -S0uP
No worries Yankee, Leader is basically done now, with the exception of tightening the ties every so often until week 3-4 and we see blooms appearing in abundance. Then the ties come off completely and we let the girls strengthen up a touch for weight. She is 8-headed, but should have buds right up each arm I`m hoping to form solidGirls are looking good KC. Sweet bro, keen to see your ice hash process, got a few oz's worth of kief and popcorn buds from my lady so keen to try out the process and hopefully get some wicked hashSo no pictures tonight guys, but I did see my first signs of feminism (that word looks wierd to spell) for all the ladies but Mohican (likely stunted from having a huge stem splice). That 30-36 hour dark period really does wonders I tell you what. Today Thursday, means we`re day 7 for the Cataract + Jill, and the Buku just had it`s lights killed for it`s 30-hour dark cycle. Then it`s off to the flower room, propped up flush with the rest of the ladies .
BuKu was topped today at node 2 before darkness, having a run at real short veg times for that strain to see how it affects it later in flower (and I`m likely moving out August 1st, haha). I`ll be able to run everything at the same time in the same spot with ease now, and will take you guys all the way through flower, drying, curing, and I`m even going to document my water/ice hash process for the first time. So from seed to smoke you guys will see it all, thanks for being with me. Update tomorrow for Day 8 flower, keep it green,
KC
I have been adding dolmite lime to my OF for a few years now. Can't figure out why I am getting what looks like a cal/mag def (rust spots which eventually take over the entire leave) though. Maybe I should be checking my ph more often,,,I shoot for the high 6's but don't double check often enough. Low 6's could lead to a cal/mag deficiancy. The nutrients are Cornucopia, the local hydro guys own mix http://www.cornucopiaplus.com/grow.html plus Earth Juice Catylyst.U should have added some Dolomite Lime in your mix... that 3rd pic looks like she needs that calcium .. so u use Ocean Forest or make your own mix? .. that leaf looks like over waterd .. do u feed it?View attachment 2660265Hey KC what's good brother. Just saying hi and things are looking goooood mang. Keep up the good work, sorry I just been skimming your thread and not joining in, just soo busy you know. And I'm retired now haha laugh my ass off. I'll catch up with ya though soon. Got some of T's strains for you now too ; !)

Blood meal is a great supplement, high in calcium. You wouldn't think that with OF I would need to add too many/any supplements. I could try a straight cal/mag supplement but the guy who makes the Cornucopia says I shouldn't need it with those nutes
This example is a bit extreme but this is the problem I have been having starting the second half of flower. It doesn't look like a deficiancy to me but more of a lock out issue.
Any ideas?
My other mix at the Factory uses a complete-cycle mixture which has the dolomite for PH stability. Addressed the CaMg issues, PH is pretty bang on @ 6.5, just hadn`t supplemented any CaMg to the distilled water I had been using. Girls are rapidly recovering now that 2 waterings have contained a slightly higher CaMg dosage than normal. If you`re interestedd I would post a complete mix for the Factory set-up that requires nothing but water, and our mistings with very mild Silica and STU should have added some Dolomite Lime in your mix... that 3rd pic looks like she needs that calcium .. Pretty well, build-up for extremes. Bit of a tolerance boost if you will. Glad you`re enjoying the thread Bilbo, this was the intentionAmazing stuff guys, So Silica is like a Prozac for weed, chills it out a bit when things are stressing it out ?. Ironic to think that a plant who's main purpose is to chill out the user needs a bit of TLC itself now and then. Keep it coming guys this thread is like a college.
Freeze all of it as quick as you can EC !! Works the best of the product is still somewhat `wet` after trimming. You can store it until we`re ready, and you can follow along with us!!Sweet bro, keen to see your ice hash process, got a few oz's worth of kief and popcorn buds from my lady so keen to try out the process and hopefully get some wicked hash
Your PH seems off to me mate, lock-out of Ca and Iron and giving that effect of almost being under/over watered. Using any Silicas? Reusing your mix? Just needs a PH spike and a shot of CalMag (could do about 150-200ppm of Silicates, and another 200ppm of CaMg). About the 6-7 and change week mark I`m guessing HC? Hope to see you around more often Caveman !!Hey KC what's good brother. Just saying hi and things are looking goooood mang. Agreed ...Highlander I have noticed the same problems in the second half of flower. I have had good results by raising my ph 0.3-0.5 after about the middle of week 3. I run hempy buckets so your soil ph will be higher but for an example, I run 5.8 thru veg and bump up to about 6.0 during transition. I slowly raise it from week 3 till I'm around 6.4 by weeks 6-7. JME but seems to help some.
We`ll definitely have to compare some soil mixtures here eventually Skunky. Glad to see you`ve come from the corner to post fourthwith, haha.I Mean i Make my own Organic Mix .. so i dont feed my plant nothing but water up untill the last 4-5 weeks of flower .. i give it some Age Old Organics with some molasses from wholesome... heres my plant 4 weeks of Flower using nothing but water at 10 PPMView attachment 2660367
