Long story short:
My entire way of thinking about this plant and really botany in general has taken a quantum leap. I'll be using an entirely new system next time, and I might even register a domain and set up a blog because I want to document my progress, but RIU's recent fuckup was inexcusable.
About the Kushberry:
I harvested too late last time. This one got chopped about 9 weeks in and the taste/smell is improved along with the effects. Much more of a 60/40 sativa dom this time around, with a moderately intense bouquet of berries and citrus that only hints at the briney OG you exhale (I found it somewhat like soy sauce in that sense, which is why I used to call it 'umami' before I learned the 'brine' expression).
I got about 5/8lb of tight buds and another 2-4 oz of shake. The tightest ones at the top of the canopy weren't grinder-teeth-busters, but they were as dense as you'd want from a CA top shelf strain. Because of another ::ahem:: experiment in lighting variables, the majority of what you might consider grade-A product wasn't quite as dense and would probably be in the $35-40/8th range retail for those of you familiar with the current CA medical scene. Both the yield and density can be improved with better canopy management.
I'm both pleased and disappointed with my results, and I've learned so much this time that I can't wait to start again!!
So I might end up 'posting' updates next go-round, but they'll be in the form of a link to a SAFE repository for my data
