Lady Bugs in My Garden

I have been reading about lady bugs being able to kill pests in your garden... I am wondering if anyone has ever done this??

From what I get of it so far is you have to find a way to keep the ladies there with food by either pests or other plants that have pollen that they love to eat... So I am thinking if I add a plant that the Ladies love they will stay in my garden and kill pests...

yep they are natures indoor pest removal unless you get to many and becomes out of hand. I have ladie bugs in my room cause its cold outside and its the warmest part of the house.

I was reading something about having various plants within the garden that lady bugs like to eat...

Lady bugs are carnivorous, they eat Aphids like spider mites. Anything that eats those bastards are very good to have around

Apparently they supplement their diet with fruits and veg also.

I was also reading that plants that you would have in your garden would attract aphids and other pest to your garden but the lady bugs will kill them... You have to kind of create an environment that the lady bugs will like and likely feel comfortable enough to stay... A circle of life kind of thing...

I used to have them in my garden, but last year when I needed them I couldnt find a single one. I wonder could you use a terrarium an fill it with aphids and ladybugs and see what happens, might kick my bearded dragons out and replace them with bugs.

I have ladybugs in my garden. Also asian beetles, They look like lady bugs but are not. I believe they eat meat also.

A CFL is a death trap for lady bugs. lol

I have used this seller, they are very reliable and have great customer service.

I have never used lady bugs in my MJ garden, but I use them every year in my vegetable garden because I always get aphids on my black eyed peas. They eat aphids like candy, I have seen them clear out a complete infestation where I couldn't even see the stems of the plants, in about 3 days!!
Problem is, when the food is gone, they tend to leave. I don't know how successful you will be keeping them in your grow space without a food source. That same seller with the bugs, also has food packs that feed for about 30 days.

Home Depot carries them seasonally, you can order online from them. Usually local growshops have or can order them for you also.

Home depot is my favorite place....

Time for the lady bugs.. Harvest time is soon
